Given that multiple ministers are now talking about how India will be a wonderfully developed country by 2047, it is time to point out that I had taken a hard look at all the optimistic predictions being made by them in my book: Will India Get Rich Before It Turns 100? 1/n

Mitron. This was the moment India’s growth story got hobbled. It is now a whole decade and the man asked for just 50 days. I marvel at India’s patience and forgiveness.

In a country where Sadhguru is the guest of honor at ISRO and IITs, and Astrology apps become unicorns, and gaumutra is touted as a miracle cure for all diseases, why are you surprised that leading investors have put money in Temple?

Two Indian police officers, Qazi Azizul Haque and Hem Chandra Bose, developed a fingerprint classification system in the 1890s that revolutionized criminal identification. However, their British boss, Edward Henry, became famous for their work, and the system was named after him.

The killing of Singapore-based techie Paramjit Singh over a parking dispute in Faridabad is no isolated tragedy. Shrinking space, overcrowding and growing intolerance are becoming dangerous features of urban Indian life. From streets to metros, buses and public events, we are literally fighting for space.
Delhi is being crammed beyond reason. Even the much-despised Lutyens' Delhi, once a green oasis, is under anti colonial onslaught - taking over green lungs like Delhi gym, Airforce sports complex & the jaipur polo grounds. Ugly glass govt buildings are galore. Why not develop a spacious new administrative city instead? Builders pack 1,000 homes where 500 would suffice and 8 feet roads which become parking lots. Conflict is inevitable. @AshwiniVaishnaw
The problem is cultural too. Even five people at a ticket counter will jostle rather than queue. We have little respect for personal space. Physical distance is also dignity and privacy. If urban planners cannot understand this, at least teach our children its value under the National Education Policy.
Viksit Bharat must mean more than concrete and congestion. A developed nation must provide not merely living space, but space to live with dignity.
We certainly are 90 years behind
