chaser: do you know what other company takes 30% while doing way less than what Steam does and is aggressively protecting their monopoly? I'll give you three guesses.
we can argue whether the value justifies the take or not (I think it does btw, Steam does _A LOT_ for you besides just hosting and collecting payment for your game), but the claiming that Valve is the _worst_ company in gaming is, to put it diplomatically, unhinged.

there's evidence that the use of AI in schools is delivering the opposite of "intellectual flourishing"—maybe in some bubbles the use of these models is leading to more reading and philosophical debates but I'm inclined to think that's an exception to the rule

I know it's hip to worry about the decline in book reading and how chatbots will impoverish our brains.

Removed all of the samsung spyware from my TV with Codex (Claude refused to root the tv lol)
It's insane how much bloat samsung packs into their TVs to track you and sell your data. Here's just some of what I turned off that made my tv 3x faster:
- screenshot your screen a few hat you're streaming and fingerprint you to sell your data
- reading your hdmi inputs to do the same thing while you have a game console plugged in
- Voice assistants: Bixby wake-word detectors listening and tracking what you say in your house
