With a 5.9-foot telescope, PRIMA will conduct deep surveys of the universe in far-infrared light, helping bridge the gap between existing infrared observatories, such as @NASAWebb, and radio telescopes.

JPL is proud to manage the mission, which is targeted to launch in 2033.

@NASAJPL Is this going to use the second NRO mirror transferred to NASA? The first became the Nancy Grace Roman telescope.

@NASAJPL cool, how many of them are you going to build? cost of launch is dropping rapidly, you should be thinking in larger numbers.

@NASAJPL And no matter what it sees, you'll never admit stars contain condensed matter (not just gas), that electromagnetism plays a role in star/planet formation, or that the big bang is a failed model.

@NASAJPL Let's visit our nearby planets and moons. These telescopes are great, and thank you, but let's utilize probes and unmanned landers more now that costs are down and AI is up.

@NASAJPL @NASARoman Great news. I was just reading last week some old Astronomy magazines from 1980 and 1981. It was great to read about the excitement of the Voyager craft going by Jupiter and Saturn.

@NASAJPLAs once spoken about before water derives from space energy via the Sun .. Like of microscopic hydrogen bubbles .. When planets are being formed and oxygen becomes of the atmosphere the hydrogen bubble compounds together with oxygen and then we have water molecules .. Tho as you know space projectiles like of even asteroids and of comets can deliver these bubbles of hydrogen collected via space energy ..

So hopefully the PRIMA might capture and or detect the bubbles ..

Premium bubbles l°l 🌊 . ○

@NASAJPL Space telescopes should be built in twos or threes.

Brings the average cost down.
