You know, I grew up watching American movies where heroes stood tall against impossible odds, fighting waves of monsters to protect freedom and liberty for those behind them.

Those stories gave me a sense of what ultimate sacrifice means: not that the hero is fearless, but that he is even more afraid of a future in which he and his fellow countrymen are enslaved.

And in every one of those movies, there was always someone offering betrayal as an alternative, spreading fear among the people the hero was protecting, urging them to betray him in the hope that the aggressor would spare their lives.

Today, Ukraine stands with shoulders spread wide, wounded but not kneeling, fighting wave after wave of monsters, while MAGA, like a pack of rabid dogs unable to reach the throat, tries instead to tear at whatever Ukrainian flesh it can reach. They hate seeing someone stand up to the monster they themselves sold their souls to for the price of a miserable extra meal.

And if that were not enough, so-called sane politicians on both sides of the spectrum whisper in the ears of Ukrainian women and children that if they just spread the legs, it will hurt less.

But even now, Ukraine continues her heroic stand against the forces of evil and corruption, not kneeling, not surrendering, standing tall with shoulders wide.

Unfortunately Americans are losing their moral rights to those movies now.
