Using Starlink, a civilian commercial service, for offensive drone strikes to kill people has never been allowed, nor should it be.
Starshield, a different system, is controlled by the US government. What they decide to do is up to them.
Ukraine military violated Starlink terms of service and used it for offensive drone strikes to kill people. That loophole was closed last week.
Starlink remains critical to the defense of Ukraine, as it is the only system that cannot be jammed or blown up, at least for now. Were Starlink to be turned off, the Ukrainian front line would collapse immediately. This is NOT a threat, it is simply a statement of fact.
Starlink was also crucial to preventing Russia from overrunning Ukraine in the early days of the war, as all other means of communication were destroyed or jammed by Russia.

Russia has developed a new low-cost missile called the Filin — and it could pose a serious problem for Ukraine
Russia's main goal is to create a cheap, mass-produced cruise missile to wear down Ukraine's air defense system and force it to expend more expensive interceptor ert Konstantin Krivolap said this on Ukraine's 24 Kanal.
The main danger of the new missile lies in its high speed. The Filin can reach speeds of up to 800 km/h and strike targets at distances of up to 1,200 kilometers.
Thanks to its speed, maneuverability, and more powerful warhead, the Filin could pose an even greater threat than jet-powered Shahed drones.

If you’re a liberal (or, God forbid, leftist) who “stands with Ukraine,” please read this article 👇 and then ask yourself one question: all else being equal, would you feel any differently about what’s going on here if the men being pulled off the street and forced to die for a cause they don’t believe in were American and not Ukrainian?
Don’t default to “it’s part of war.” That’s morally bankrupt thinking. You can’t justify things by pointing to how normal they are; that’s how every evil thing in history has been justified (and, anyway, what Ukraine is doing is not normal).
Really think about it. Wouldn’t it turn your stomach a little more if the conscripts were being forcefully extracted from neighborhoods in Chicago and Los Angeles and Houston, not Kyiv and Dnipro and Odesa? And if the answer is that it would, is there any explanation for that other than an absence of empathy for the very people you claim to be “standing with”?
