My best guestimate is that team would also not be invited. From the same thread I had with Valve about the issue:
"Previously, teams had to finalize their rosters by the qualifier registration deadline. Now the deadline is 5 matches prior to the Major invitation deadline.

We can鈥檛 prevent teams from playing it loose close to the deadline, but we don鈥檛 recommend it."
And from Major Supplemental Rulebook:
"Invitations will be sent to intact rosters,"
A four man roster doesn't sound intact to me.
