On a recent visit to HQ Southern Command, Mr. Prashant Jogalekar, Director, MCCIA, met 𝐋𝐭 𝐆𝐞𝐧 𝐀𝐣𝐚𝐲 𝐊𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐫, 𝐀𝐕𝐒𝐌, 𝐕𝐒𝐌, 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟. He briefed Lt Gen Kumar on MCCIA and the work of the MCCIA Defence Committee, and invited him to the 𝐌𝐂𝐂𝐈𝐀 𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐨 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 (𝐌𝐃𝐀𝐒 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔).

Since 1999, the MCCIA Defence Committee has worked to connect the Armed Forces, DRDO, DGQA, DPSUs and industry. MDAS 2026 brings that ecosystem together on one floor.

The conversation began with a clear message from the inaugural stage: India cannot compromise on food security, but the way we produce food must est address, Shri T. Vijay Kumar, IAS (Retd.), Executive Vice Chairman, Rythu Sadhikara Samstha, described natural farming as a science-based approach built on healthy soil, and shared how Andhra Pradesh is scaling it with women farmers and farmer-to-farmer learning at its heart.

The Semiconductor Ecosystem Conference brought together industry leaders, policymakers, academia and MSMEs at MCCIA for a day of conversations on India’s semiconductor opportunity, under the theme “From Semicon 2.0 to Business try.”

Keynotes set the context for India’s semiconductor journey, followed by an overview of ISM 2.0 and what it means for Indian businesses. The panels traced the entire value chain: chip design, embedded electronics and EMS, passive components, bare PCBs and supply-chain localisation, and the capital equipment powering semiconductors, data centres and AI infrastructure. The day closed with a key question: how do we skill the talent that will build India’s semiconductor future?

𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐌𝐂𝐂𝐈𝐀. 
The inaugural session set the tone with one clear message: India's next agricultural shift has to protect food security, farmer incomes, soil health and the planet together.

One of the stage was the strong case for letting nature do its job. Natural farming came through as a science-based approach, where healthy soil biology supplies nutrients, improves water management and reduces dependence on external inputs. Andhra Pradesh showed what is possible at scale: around 18 lakh farmers have already made the shift, the aim is to cover all 60 lakh by 2035, and women farmers and farmer-to-farmer learning are driving adoption.

Another key takeaway was that scaling up needs strong institutional support. That means finance, government programmes, large farmer clusters for aggregation and long-term handholding. On the market side, pesticide residues are emerging as a serious food-safety and export concern, so traceability and stronger farmer–industry linkages are essential to earn consumer trust and better value for farmers.

In an address at the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA), Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe emphasized the state's intent to enforce compliance with safety guidelines. Mundhe noted that the interaction aimed to maintain entrepreneurs in the food sector regarding the 22 core food safety regulations outlined by FSSAI. While answering queries on targeted surveillance, the Commissioner clarified that no specific corporate entities or brands are under surveillance, but rather any unsafe food and pharmaceutical products that threaten public health.
