What? Waiting times reduced from a year to 7 weeks by employing an administrator.

Do you like tomatoes 🍅? Can 1 large tomato a day help in anything other than taste? According to this study in #EJPC @EJPCEiC 1 large tomato can ⬇️ BP by 3mmHg sys and 2mmHg diastolic - helpful & enjoyable!

Right now, surgeons determine how to remove cancerous cells and protect vital organs, nerves, and blood vessels without a clear view.

New funding I announced will get tools to visualize tumors into the operating room, reducing follow-up surgeries and improving outcomes.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of the brilliant Perth fellow pathologist and 2005 Nobel Laureate in Medicine, J. Robin Warren AC.

With his fine observational skills, Robin identified bacteria in the stomach (now called Helicobacter). This led to the discovery by him and s Perth physician Barry Marshall AC that these bacteria cause inflammation of the stomach, ulceration and stomach cancer. It turned the field upside down and has greatly impacted patient treatment & improved outcomes. Professors Warren & Marshall jointly received the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 2005.

This reminds us why radical ideas & research are so important in trying to transform all diseases in medicine & improve patient outcomes.

My thoughts are with his family, friends & colleagues.

#C4News striking out on our own agenda tonight with a special report and discussion about the tidal wave of type 2 diabetes hitting Britain, costing lives and limbs and NHS crisis. How to tackle our diet and the obesity that causes much of this? We talk to the NHS England diabetes lead, the chef and author who turned his own life and many more around and the policy researcher with a radical answer that’s cost free to the taxpayer and involves no compulsion.

Why Teslas Crash - no sensors, just computer vision, trained by current AI methods, thus clueless on edge cases far outside training set. Quote at 4:03-4:31 could have come from one of my papers w @garymarcus on language in the 1990s. [Though Musk is right that crucial data would be deaths/mile compared to human drivers, unmentioned in this story.] wsj.com/video/series/t…
