INFOSYS CONFIRMS STILL UNDER A DOJ H-1B INVESTIGATION

Its financial statements, approved today, say the Justice Department is investigating how Infosys classified certain H-1B workers in filings with the US government.

Infosys says it cannot predict the outcome.

That n January. The case is still open.

Infosys has been here before. In 2013 it paid $34 million to settle a federal visa fraud case.

The filings kept coming. From October through June, DOL certified 4,553 H-1B labor filings for Infosys Limited. 4,535 listed a wage equal to the prevailing wage, to the dollar. The median was $92,581. Every one claimed the $60,000 exemption from the recruit-Americans-first rules.

@LayoffAI Not one of the WITCH companies should still be in business in America. None of their execs or directors should be allowed to do business in America.

@LayoffAI They need to be prevented from ever doing business in the United States. They are horrible. I had to deal with them when I worked for Elevance, when they were Anthem.

@LayoffAI California's been here too. In 2019, AG Becerra settled with Infosys for $800,000 over about 500 workers placed in California on B-1 visas instead of H-1B from 2006 to 2017, skipping state payroll taxes. Infosys denied it. Eleven years for $800K. Now DOJ's probe is still open.
