Yep!
Jeter to Murphy...
“The Brewers play baseball the right way” ….
- Pat Murphy replies … “Guys today don’t understand that!”
We have gotten so far away from center as to what winning baseball is and looks like… the younger generation’s focus is on launch angle, spin rates, in by out slugging the opponent! Basically…. Hit more HR than the other team…. Then pimp the HR.
Well eyes have been opened. They have to be. It’s now a matter of … if pride will keep the other orgs from following. If they do… our game will skyrocket like never before.
It was literally the most beautiful baseball I have seen at the MLB level … electric!

Bingo!
For those that missed it last night… Here is the 8 run inning! Zero HR, two out and two strikes hitting all over the place … vs elite WS pitching! Inject this into my veins!
The game of baseball played at its finest! Please, please, please 🙏 ALL MLB orgs.. take notice! ere are telling you loud and clear that this is what we want! Not K or HR approach on every pitch. You can steal us all back from the college baseball world where winning team baseball is still played… only if … you start playing baseball league wide like the Brewers and Rays…

Proud of these boys. Hopefully they can get some respect now in 3A football. 6-0 for the first time since 2017.
The Hawks move to 6-0 on the season (2-0 in district play)! They will be back in action next Friday at home against Edmonson County. Kickoff is set for 8:00. Go Hawks!

Truth!!!
Been coaching baseball for 35 years. I can confidently say …
The same fundamentals that won baseball games in my year #1 still wins them today. Even more so now, because others are neglecting the basics at an alarming rate. So many are mistakenly seeking a magic potion. When doing simple better than everyone else is the key. On offense, defense, team play, etc.

Bring back contact hitting, bunting and fundamental baseball! All I see anymore is exit velocity and launch angle! We wonder why guys are hitting .250! Bring back the days of Tony Gwynn, Wade Boggs, Ichiro Suzuki, etc. I’m tired of seeing strikeouts. Win the at-bat!

Well, I got the best news tonight! Hawk baseball player, track and football star Brock Shelton, gave his heart to Jesus! This guy has broke many records in our school, and will break many more, but nothing compares to accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior! Amen!
