Many young Ugandans hear the term human rights but few fully understand what those rights mean in everyday life.
This gap in civic knowledge leaves them feeling powerless and disconnected from systems meant to protect them.
The Civic Classroom is a weekly civic education series complex ideas about human rights, governance & citizenship into simple, relatable conversations.
My main audience is young people in Uganda, many of whom spend a significant amount of time on TikTok.
By bringing civic education to the platforms young people already use, the goal is to make information about rights more accessible and engaging.
An informed generation is better equipped to speak up, participate and peacefully challenge repression and authoritarianism.

The swift professional customer care we were used with @StanChartUGA is no more. Just hard times a head with ABSA customer care.

For some good months now, I have been speaking with different people especially those living near garbage dump sites majorly in Kampala, and their stories are not far from different.
Their stories show that plastic pollution is mostly caused by irresponsible garbage disposal, effective policies to end plastic production and environmental illiteracy. As the population grows in Kampala, irresponsible disposal rapidly increases thus affecting people’s health, livelihoods and largely the environment.
The only way to end plastic pollution is to do away with plastic manufacturing, use, and treat those who use it as terrorists.📌💯

Kupitia taarifa iliyotolewa leo, Oktoba 26, hi la Polisi kutoka Makao Makuu Dodoma, Jeshi hilo limesema hali ya usalama Nchini ni shwari, licha ya kuwepo kwa taarifa za mipango, matamko na uhamasishaji unaodaiwa kufanywa na baadhi ya Viongozi wa Dini, Siasa na Wanaharakati.
Kwa mujibu wa taarifa hiyo, Watu hao wanadaiwa kufanya vikao vya siri na uhamasishaji wa wazi wenye mwelekeo wa kuwashawishi Wananchi kujihusisha na vitendo vya uhalifu, ikiwemo kufanya fujo, vurugu na kuharibu miundombinu inayotumika kutoa huduma kwa umma pamoja na mali za umma na binafsi.
Jeshi la Polisi limesema kwa kushirikiana na Vyombo vingine vya ulinzi na usalama, linaendelea kufuatilia kwa karibu taarifa linazopokea kuhusu mipango hiyo, huku likieleza kuwa wahusika watakamatwa na kuchukuliwa hatua kwa mujibu wa Sheria.

Edgar Musasizi (Director of Civil Affairs at the Ministry of Defence) has stated on behalf of the respondents (Chief of Defence Command, Kasenyi Barracks command, Directorate of Intelligence and Security, etc.):
