A 20-year study of a million children found that kids conceived by IVF frozen embryo transfer had double the cancer rate.

84% of US IVF transfers now use frozen embryos.

Danish researchers followed every child born in Denmark from 1996 to 2012 for up to 20 years. The study was week.

Children conceived without assisted reproduction developed cancer at 18.3 per 100,000 per year.

After frozen embryo transfer, the rate was 41.1.

After ICSI, where a single sperm is injected directly into the egg, it was 27.9.

After frozen transfer, leukemia ran more than twice as high.

The only method that showed no increase was a fresh embryo, never frozen, created by placing eggs and sperm together in a dish.

That version is now the exception. In 2021, 84% of US IVF transfers used frozen embryos and 78% used ICSI, according to the CDC.

Compared with children of women with a history of infertility who conceived without treatment, the frozen embryo risk stayed at more than double.

In the authors' words, the results suggest "procedure-related, rather than infertility-related, factors." This is not the first time the pattern has shown up.

A 2019 JAMA study of the same Danish children at 11 years found it too. A 2022 study of 2.3 million children in Taiwan found those conceived through assisted reproduction had 58% higher cancer risk, "mainly owing to leukemia and hepatic tumor."

The absolute risk is small, and most of these children will never get cancer. The Danish children were conceived with older freezing methods, and the authors warn the results "may differ for contemporary protocols."

Nobody yet has long-term data on IVF as it is done today. Children conceived with today's methods won't have 20 years of data until the 2040s, so today's IVF children are, in effect, the trial.

Parents deserve to hear these numbers before they sign the consent form, because their child is the one who will carry the risk.

I've long suspected a large part of public school is instilling fear, anxiety, and a stunted maturity in as many kids as possible.
It is remarkable to read about the Virginia gentry and how young they were given real responsibility.

Washington was surveying the frontier as a teenager and commanded a regiment in his early twenties after starting a world war in his twenties (talk about a bad first month on of such wide authority to such young men was not unusual among men of his class

The habit of command was something you were raised into, and so by the time they reached the age of majority, they were generally competent, able, and the sort of energetic young men who could be trusted with authority

Much to think about there, I suppose, particularly in the context of how long "we" now keep young men in a sort of extended childhood and both refuse to entrust them with real authority/sovereignty while also refusing to develop in them the sorts of habits and competencies that would make them more capable of wielding it well

You Can See Everything (horrible title) was boring and inconsequential. It's basically the continued adventures of Nathan Fielder's TV persona, so if you like Rehearsal, there you go. The performative laughter is real; my theater still suffered from it with only eight people.

Also, Tuesday tickets are now closer to $10 than to $5. Not a healthy sign.

My eyes see Monkeybone
Don’t be surprised if Monkeybone becomes the Best Picture front runner soon. I think people are seriously underestimating how much this movie is going to connect with audiences including academy voters.

BREAKING: Claude Code found 14,219 photos of my face on my Android that I never took. Phone was secretly taking them almost every time I picked it up. Even when I was just lying in bed. Even at home.

Not screenshots. Real frames from the front camera. On the train. In the car. abbed it to check the time.

They were just sitting in a system cache. Timestamps and GPS on them. Nothing in Gallery. Nothing in Recently Deleted.

Plugged the phone into my laptop, made a full backup, told Claude Code to look for any front-camera files that weren’t in my photos. It pulled /data/system/users/0/faceunlock/cache and another folder inside Google Play Services. Over 14 thousand files. Normal ones and infrared from Face Unlock. Every single one had time and location.

Started scrolling. Almost everything from the last 15 months. Then I saw a file created 2 seconds ago. I was still looking at the folder. Phone kept taking photos while I was reading this.

Google and the phone makers say Face Unlock turns everything into a mathematical model and deletes the image right away. On this phone the raw frames were just sitting there. Some of the processes writing to that folder were from system diagnostics. Couple of old apps that still had camera permission could also get in.

Turned off diagnostics, revoked camera access from everything that doesn’t need it, cleared the cache. But how many of these frames already went somewhere else, I don’t know.

If you want to check yours, plug it in, make a full backup or use ADB, and ask Claude to look for front-camera files outside your Gallery. Path above is where mine were.
Claude Code found 145,763 photos I permanently deleted from my iPhone.

Three years of deleted photos and videos still sitting in a hidden cache. Any app with file access can read them.

I plugged my iPhone into my MacBook to run a backup. Claude Code was doing the security audit lagged a directory I wasn't even looking for.

PhotoData/Thumbnails. Over 146,000 files. Photos, videos, screenshots. Every single one was something I deleted.

Photos from 2023, 2024 and 2025. The ones I deleted the second after taking them. The ones I cleared from Recently Deleted. The ones I deleted three separate times because I wanted to be sure they were gone. All still there.

Passport photo I took for a visa application in 2023.
Screenshots of my bank app with full account numbers visible.
Private photos I sent someone and immediately deleted after a breakup.
Screenshot of my crypto seed phrase I took temporarily in 2022.
Photo of my ID and credit card I took to remember the numbers and deleted 5 seconds later.
Screenshots of my ex's private Instagram stories I saved and permanently deleted in 2023.

Some were full resolution. All organized by date going back to 2021.

When you delete a photo on iPhone, iOS removes it from your camera roll and Recently Deleted. It keeps a compressed copy in a Spotlight search index cache so your phone can find things when you search. Apple never clears it. Not after 30 days. Not after a year. Never.

They told you it was permanently deleted. It wasn't.

I checked which apps on my phone had Files and Folders access. 23 apps. Weather apps. QR code scanners. PDF readers. A flashlight app I downloaded in 2022. Any one of them could have been reading every photo I ever deleted this entire time.

Went from 23 apps to 3 in about two minutes.

Full step by step below. Takes 2 minutes. Save it so you don't lose it and send it to anyone with an iPhone.
