Adding onto this: once frontier model subsidiaries run out, doing more with less tokens will be a flex, less is more

Reduce dependency:
- local harness & processing
- open source, local LLM
- inference marketplaces
- caching, compression

It could change as quickly as it arrived
the headlines from anthropic's S-1 about losing $80.7B this year is a bigger warning sign for solo builders than it is for investors.

it reveals their growth strategy, and we've seen this playbook before.

amazon in the 2000s and early 2010s looked like it barely made money. it wasn't losing it. it was pouring it into aws and media. the "bad numbers" were growth investments.

uber subsidized rides for years. cheap rides weren't the business. they were subsidizing rides until every cab rider became an uber rider.

now look at anthropic.

a maxed out $200 claude plan is about $7k a month of api usage. ~36x what you pay.

that's not a pricing mistake. they're paying to get you hooked. and it's working on me.

this is the part you need to pay attention to.

subsidies end. uber's did. after the ipo there's a stock price to defend, and building with agents gets a lot more expensive.

anthropic is going to pull the rug on max plans at some point after IPO. and the price you'll pay is going to skyrocket.

here's how you should prepare:

build as much as you can right now.

and find out where your tokens actually go, so you're efficient before you're forced to be.

What’s the usual etiquette for following up on a private security report?

I emailed a maintainer about two bugs over the weekend, per their security policy, but haven’t heard back yet

Keeping the details private, any other proactive steps?

You already paid for this lesson.

Every session, my coding agent rediscovered the test command that works and the step that follows a schema change. So I built Adage: an experiment that learns those from the history already on your machine and hands them back as reflexes.

My guy built a directed acyclic graph engine that turns coding agent traces into reflexes

Early numbers, Haiku 4.5, held-out tasks:

🛣️ 20 → 2 median turns before first edit

🪎 $0.135 → $0.053 per run (~60% cheaper)

🏃🏼‍♂️ <7 ms per decision, on a CPU, no model call

At the National Tax Lien Association conference in Philly today with @MLeeJr for @lienfiapp, lots of real estate alpha being shared on foreclosure markets across the country

One insight: lots of HOAs for condos are facing bankruptcy or underfunded

we used to use blockchains because we didn't trust institutions, now we use institutional blockchains and don't trust ourselves or each other

the original promise was permissionless access, financial sovereignty, censorship resistance, and the ability to transact without trusting intermediaries

somewhere along the way, the techno-optimism of programmable money got lost in speculation, scams, and security incidents

the time is now to spice things up, double down on what brought you here, pick a problem and persevere

I'm on Blohard Social (read QT)

I met Roberto at a bar in ETH Denver back in 2023(?) and we chatted about Farcaster, Base, and tech over a burger and beers

He's a great guy (understatement) and I vibe with the protocol's ethos!

What if there were a friend tech like protocol that was immutable, open, composable, and not beholden to a crazy person? github.com/blohard/accoun…

You might think that crypto law is boring

if that is you, we have something to tell you—it absolutely is.

that said you probably have some questions about crypto that the folks at Brogan Law are happy to answer
