Thinking about chronicling how I get through the baseball off-season with like 1 tweet a day of how i fill the baseball void.
10/20 - Went for a bike ride. Watched Brothers on Apple TV with Woody Harrelson/Matthew Mcconaughey. Quite funny.
10/21 - Watching Love is Blind

Milan Tolentino goes on the 40. He was scheduled to be a minor league free agent if he wasn't selected.
He got some work in the OF this year in addition to being a standout infield defender. Has some speed. There is pop though his numbers were very inflated at home. K% too

The Guardians:
-Declined their half of Shawn Armstrong's 2027 mutual option
-Declined Trevor Stephan's 2027 club option
-Selected Milan Tolentino from Triple-A Columbus
Armstrong and Stephan are now free agents. 40-man now at 36

MLB pitchers Emmanuel Clase/Luis Ortiz are scheduled to go on trial, beginning on Monday, Nov. 2, w/ jury selection.
Which MLB players/execs could testify? Why might jurors be asked about StatCast/Baseball Savant? What will both sides argue?

Friendly reminder that Bryce Miller is, in fact, NOT a free agent. The option was to cost-control Miller if he broke out in 2026. He did not and instead his arb number is expected to come in lower than the option, so they declined the option. That's it.
The Seattle Mariners exercise closer Andres Munoz's $9 million option, but decline the options of starter Bryce Miller and outfielder Victor Robles, making them free agents beginning Monday.Community noteDespite having his option declined, Bryce Miller is only arbitration eligible and will not become a free agent until after the 2029 season.

My back of the napkin math (which is very unreliable) says first week of June would have to be 2027 opening day to play 103 games (avoid the 60 games lost that would ruin the TV contracts expiring in '28), with time built in for spring training and off days.
And the next official MLB game will be played.......when?

Jacob Bresnahan is one of the most underrated pitching prospects in baseball
The guy just shoves, and he’s still just 21 years old, so there’s room to get even better

After a strong 2025, Jacob Bresnahan would rise even further in the system, pitching to a 3.22 ERA, a number that led all qualified Giants prospects. He’d finish the year in Double-A, as he continued to be a hard arm to tag.
Hitters posted just a 69.5% Contact% and .199 batting an this season. While he struggled more after a Double-A promotion, he only made three starts, where he gave up just a single home run in 16 innings pitched.

For only the SECOND time in baseball history, there are players who have won the World Baseball Classic and the World Series in the same year.
Jackson Chourio
William Contreras
Antonio Senzatela
Angel Zerpa (IL)

Congrats to Team Venezuela on winning the #WorldBaseballClassic
I took them to upset Japan but I didnt see US knocking off the DR and I didnt see Italy getting to the semis or the US getting to the finals.
What a tournament.

6/8 so far on my pool picks in the #WorldBaseballClassic
I took Australia and came close. 7/8 if USA manages to get though.

Antonio Senzatela, William Contreras and Jackson Chourio are true World Champs.
They have a World Baseball Classic and World Series title all in the same year. Very cool.

I guess all the scolding the Brewers for not trading for Tarik Skubal didn't matter in the end.
Also gotta wonder what David Stearns is thinking watching this with that massive payroll in New York.
