HE WAS OLD ANYWAY… SO WHAT DOES IT MATTER?”

Those are the words a paramedic says were spoken after 86-year-old Edward Anderson died alone on the floor of his bedroom.

Let that sink in.

Edward was a husband. A father. A hospice patient. A human being who final days.

According to investigators, his overnight caregiver, Beatrice Taylor, fell asleep during her shift. Around 1 a.m., she allegedly heard a loud thump and found Edward trapped on the floor with his head wedged between his bed and a nightstand.

He was alive.
He was conscious.

Investigators say a call to 911 at that moment could have saved his life.

Instead, authorities allege she walked away and went back to sleep.

Hours later, investigators say she spent nearly 40 minutes on the phone with her parents before checking on him again. By then, Edward was unconscious. Even then, deputies say 911 was not called immediately.

Emergency responders weren’t contacted until 5: 37 a.m.

By the time they arrived…

Edward Anderson was gone.

The medical examiner ruled his death positional asphyxia, meaning he slowly suffocated while trapped.

Investigators say data from his pacemaker showed he survived for a period after the fall, and that prompt medical assistance could have prevented his death.

Then came the statement that has left so many people outraged.

A paramedic reported hearing the caregiver say:

“He was old anyway… so what does it matter?”

It matters because every life matters.

It matters because growing old does not erase a person’s value.

It matters because no one deserves to spend their final moments frightened, trapped, and alone when help was only a phone call away.

Authorities charged Beatrice Taylor with aggravated manslaughter of an elderly person.

Edward Anderson deserved compassion.

Instead, prosecutors allege he was abandoned when he needed someone most.

I’m baffled why Gurpreet Digwa wasn’t charged and e claimed to the police that his brother had been subjected to a racist attack and that Henry hadn’t been stabbed. This could have potentially saved Henry’s life if the police had been told the truth. !!!

⚠️ CONVICTED PAEDOPHILE REMAINED DIRECTOR OF COMPANY PROVIDING CHILD SAFEGUARDING TRAINING TO SCHOOLS

A convicted child sex offender continued to hold a directorship at a company offering child protection and safeguarding courses to schools and nurseries, despite being on the
Graeme Barrie, 55, admitted sending indecent communications to two girls aged between 13 and 16. The offences involved repeatedly questioning the girls about their sexual experiences and making obscene comments about their bodies.

Despite his conviction, Barrie remained a director of Broxburn-based Crown Safety Limited, a business offering training on protecting children from abuse.

The company provided courses to primary schools and nurseries and was listed among West Lothian Council's preferred contractors eligible to bid for public sector work.

Selkirk Sheriff Court heard that the offending took place between June 2011 and August 2013.

Barrie pleaded guilty in August 2025. He avoided prison and was instead sentenced to 100 hours of unpaid work, two years of social work supervision and registration as a sex offender.

Police are now investigating how many schools across West Lothian used Crown Safety's services, according to The Scottish Sun on Sunday.

Following contact from the newspaper, Companies House records were reportedly amended to show Barrie had resigned as a director. His wife, Lisa, became the company's person with significant control.

Barrie, who is now barred from working in schools, also works as a wedding DJ and helps with his wife's photography business.

When questioned about the training company, he said: "I'm not involved in that side of the business."

Serious questions remain about how a convicted child sex offender was able to remain a director of a company providing safeguarding training, and what checks were undertaken before schools and nurseries used its services.

Staffordshire Police Chief Inspector Darren McGrath, 44, has appeared in court charged with sexually assaulting a woman between July 2015 and July 2016, while serving as a police officer.

McGrath, of Stoke-on-Trent, is charged with sexually assaulting a woman aged 16 or over by ire Police confirmed the alleged offence dates back to 2015 and that McGrath was suspended when the investigation began.

McGrath served with Staffordshire Police for almost 20 years, working in local, response and proactive policing, public order and search operations. He also previously worked with West Midlands Police in its Counter Terrorism Unit and held roles in football policing and neighbourhood policing. In 2024, he was appointed Chief Inspector of Newcastle-under-Lyme's Local Policing Unit. He subsequently took on leadership of the Staffordshire Moorlands policing team, overseeing priorities including business and vehicle crime, burglary and anti-social behaviour.

McGrath appeared at Cannock Magistrates Court on Friday, October 30, where he spoke only to confirm his name. He was released on bail and is due to appear at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on November 30, 2026. Staffordshire Police have not released further details.

Matthew Watson has been jailed three times for violence against women. Now, in 2026, he is back out of prison and living in Carlisle.

His history includes two former partners being seriously assaulted, with one ulation and a BB gun.

In one particularly vicious attack, Watson arrived at his partner’s home heavily intoxicated. When she refused to let him stay overnight, he became aggressive, wrecked her living room and grabbed her by the throat, squeezing until she lost consciousness.

When she regained consciousness, the assault continued.

He repeatedly punched her in the head, force-fed her pizza and then returned with a BB gun, firing at close range and striking her in the face, head and hand as she tried to protect herself.

Police found the woman in a highly distressed state, curled up behind a sofa. She had bruising and a blood blister.

Watson admitted non-fatal strangulation, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and criminal damage. Carlisle Crown Court sentenced him to 18 months in prison.

Judge Nicholas Barker described the attack as a terrible catalogue of domestic violence and highlighted Watson’s history of significant violence.

But this was not his first prison sentence.

In 2010, Watson was jailed for five years after attacking a former girlfriend in a Carlisle nightclub, striking her over the head three times with a cider bottle. He also attacked a bystander who tried to intervene.

He admitted grievous bodily harm with intent and unlawful wounding.

Three prison sentences. A history of violence against women. Two partners left injured.

Watson has now been released again and is back in Carlisle.

South Wales Police adopted its own “anti-Muslim hostility” definition — despite the Government’s definition applying only in England — and instructed officers to record “illegitimate” criticism of Islam as non-crime hate incidents (NCHIs).

After a legal challenge from the Free Speech Union, South Wales Police withdrew its guidance. Every public body that adopts a version of it should expect a challenge from the FSU.

Officers receive no training on freedom of speech, but do receive plenty of diversity training. If they don’t record your criticism of Islam as an NCHI, they may simply charge you with a communications offence, as they have done to Kellie-Jay Keen (@ThePosieParker). The FSU is proud to be defending her.
