I had so much fun watching the duel tournament yesterday, but damn I feel so bad for the competitors who went out due to a rng matchup point system that you have no control off. Wouldn't it just be better to tie breaker duels?
Buchholz sounds like a super troll way to do it without seeding being involved.

I feel like you never stop farming gear or upgrades in retail, its getting a bit much. Crest caps that makes you get small increments of gear upgrades every week.
It's an endless gear grind. As soon as ur getting close to maxing out ur gear new a patch with new gear spawns, and then there is voidcores for upgrades on top
I miss the times when you could just slam m+ knowing that it isnt pointless since u can do 2levels higher once ur max geared

I have had many conversations about this on stream, how about a challenge mode raid difficulty that has scaled gear so it keeps its challenge throughout the season? It provides the same gear as regular raiding difficulty which would be more accessible but you get some cool cosmetics for completing it. And the race would be played on this difficulty, and this difficulty would be global launch?
This way no excessive splits and it wouldnβt gatekeep insane ilvl for top guilds only.

retail raiding has a "the last two bosses are fucking insane" problem caused by wanting something to challenge rwf guilds
blizz needs to come up with a separate thing to keep these guilds occupied that the rest of the raiding population doesn't have to engage with

Forcing horisontal progression on a game that will have new content being released frequently is a mistake I think. How do you make it work? On one hand you want new gear and raids feel valuable, nothing feels better than seeing the power of a new juicy weapon.
But years into the game how can you make level 60 dungeons and raids like onyxia still be something people want to run for gear?

From an interview this week: a new raid tier in Forever reportedly does raise gear power, but the jump between tiers is supposed to stay as narrow as they can make it, so a best in slot piece from an older raid or dungeon is meant to stay on your list for a long time. Horizontal, in their words, means the world grows sideways: zones, dungeons, raids, quests, Legacy. Gear is the one part that isn't fully horizontal.
Whether gear ever gets a soft reset is reportedly too early to say. The stated aim is that everything you do should keep mattering, and they admit holding that at 100% forever is probably impossible.
My read: their own comparison is the handful of early Classic pieces people kept through later tiers, and they want that to be the rule rather than the exception. Good news for whatever you pull out of the Barrow Deeps first. It also means the second tier will feel like a smaller upgrade than Classic raiders are used to, and I'm curious how that lands.

How can people be so cooked they start being toxic towards people working on an addon that legit saved wow Uiβs.
I know first hand how hard they work on this addon, I am in Ellesmere dms daily at this point π show some support to the king of addons

Mental is struggling rn, stress is at an all time high, EUI feature requests are pouring in at an unfathomable rate (avg 1000+ per month), then tonight I find out someone yelled at an EUI support team member cuz they felt their feature request wasnβt being prioritized enough.
I REALLY need people to get some perspective here or I will lose it lol. Bringing any kind of entitlement attitude to a FREE WoW addon is absolute insanity. EllesmereUI has no paywalls, no sponsors, no website ads, no partnerships, and no funding beyond one time donations. CurseForge payouts barely reach $200 a month LOL. Iβve poured every waking moment of mine into this project for 9 months, to the point where I barely have time to stream anymore, which is literally supposed to be my job. Many support team members have taken days off of work just to help with support during intense times.
So when someone comes in feeling entitled to a feature they want (usually something super niche that they try to say everyone needs) and gets pissed at a support team member over it, itβs incredibly fucked.
EUI will always remain completely free and unpaywalled, but in return I need patience and understanding for both myself and my support staff. With thousands of requests and reports coming in every month, some things are inevitably going to get missed, and many feature requests wonβt be implemented. Thatβs just the reality of maintaining a project of this size with the time and resources available.
Finally, just remember that every single person helping with support is a volunteer giving up their own free time to help this community. They donβt get paid, they donβt owe anyone anything, and they absolutely do not deserve to be yelled at because someoneβs feature request hasnβt been addressed.
Itβs honestly ridiculous that this even needs to be said.
TLDR: Donβt ever yell at EUI staff members, and donβt act entitled over a FREE WoW addon. Just basic human decency please, be kind

I thought about this a lot and had a yap with @Guzutv
I think when it comes to dungeons it should feel rewarding to finish a zone by going to a dungeon, completing some quests you got and get some gear rewards, but it should also feel good to run it again in case you want to get a cool item, but you also donβt want to get groups that donβt care about killing bosses and trash feels like a waste of time for people who are in there to level up. So a split I thought would be good if you look at questing as the baseline (100%) running a dungeon first time with quests (125%) rerunning it repeatedly (75%) with xp bonuses being put on bosses so people arenβt incentivized to skip them.

I understand people that want to explore the world and not spam dungeons for leveling but at the same time, if a healer or a tank wants to slam dungeons to level up what is wrong with that? Isnβt it just nice to have options assuming they still keep things balanced?

The beta touched dungeon experience twice. A thread from 23 September opened on an elite kill paying 36 XP, and on October 1 the developer notes halved the bonus from f that.
"Are you serious you caved on dungeon quests?" went up nineteen minutes after the notes and carries 1,057 posts. Two other threads on it, opened on 23 September and 3 October, sit at 849 and 827 posts, and the October one is still taking posts this morning.
Under the counts sits the role argument. Tanks and healers only get their job inside a dungeon group, and the healer thread from overnight says dungeons are the one place left to heal at all.
No Blizzard post has landed in any of the three threads. The notes' line from October 1 has not moved since. Should dungeon XP go back on mobs, or is a single run through each dungeon the pace the beta wants?

People complained about dungeon leveling being too good xp, now after the nerf in combination with certain quests having bad shared drops some dungeons are just awful now xp wise.
just got done reading a thread on the wowf reddit complaining that there aren't enough reasons to do dungeons while leveling anymore
maybe I really have found my ppl π

I think a lot of people are missing the fact that forever is on retail addon restrictions. So when people are talking against LFG tools as well as other convenient things that aren't build into the baseline game in forever there will most likely be an addon created for it. So unless they change that the game will have tons of addons similar to this.
Another awesome Add-On is Dungeon Journal. Shows you the loot from all dungeons, bosses., gear, and a nifty quest button that opens up the in game map to show you were the quest is located or where the chain begins

Wow forever seems to be dividing the player base so much.
Classic players seem to think this game is just for them, and retail players seem to be pushing for QOL stuff that interfere with the classic+ people have in mind.
Finding the perfect balance seems like a crazy difficult job, but I think they have done a lot of good stuff so far. I am personally in favor of more QOL stuff but I am also happy with what we currently have. I will be addicted to this game I already know it.
