The country is going down the pan and our Prime Minister is faffing around tweaking parking tickets.
What is the point in Burnham if he refuses to touch the big issues like the ballooning benefits bill?

🚨 NEW: Andy Burnham has announced changes to car parking fines
- Drivers will have a 5-minute grace period to decide whether to park and 10 minutes to leave after a parking session ends
- A £20 maximum charge on appeal for minor mistakes, such as entering the wrong number plate or not displaying a permit
- Charges will also be cancelled on appeal for breakdowns, medical emergencies or broken ticket machines
- The £100 cap on charges will remain
- The rules will come into force as soon as possible and operators that break them will lose access to DVLA data

@RobertJenrick 😂😂😂 he’s the only one looking to scrap the triple lock, which is the elephant in the room making our welfare bill unaffordable. He’s doing more than you ever have, you plank

@GeorgeWall1878 @RobertJenrick Strangely enough Jack...the majority of people don't mind their tax going to fund pensions but they do mind it funding the workshy families where generation after generation don't work or those who have more kids than they can afford.

@GeorgeWall1878 @RobertJenrick The elephant on the room 🤣🤡🤣🤡🤣🤡switching from the triple lock to the double lock will save £4bn per year by 2030 which equates to 1.2% of the welfare bill. And this is almost the same as the cost of scrapping the two child benefit cap

@GeorgeWall1878 @RobertJenrick Leave the triple lock in place and stop giving millions to foreign nationals, illegals and cut the welfare bill! Stop picking on Pensioners who have actually worked, like me for 45 years!!

@GeorgeWall1878 @RobertJenrick The welfare bill is unaffordable I suggest because there is for too much being given away to those who have not contributed.
Leave the pensioners alone and let them have the triple lock and they will still be below the minimum living wage.

@GeorgeWall1878 @RobertJenrick Pensioners have paid into the system. Why are we paying billions to foreigners who have never paid a penny in? That should be the priority for cuts not pensioners who are paid less than most pensioners in the EU.

@GeorgeWall1878 @RobertJenrick Public sector pensions are the problem, it’s a £2 trillion liability, all the MP’s know this but no one will do anything because they benefit, Starmers pension from CPS is one million a year tax free. You could abolish public sector pensions, with the savings sort country out.

@GeorgeWall1878 @RobertJenrick He’s advertising on YouTube about the triple lock as far as I can understand he’s claiming pensions won’t be affected but he will somehow be able to fund social care , it sounds like the Ken Dodd school of accountancy to me, couldn’t make sense of what he is saying at all ???

@GeorgeWall1878 @RobertJenrick The welfare bill being unaffordable isn’t the triple lock, it’s the scrapping of the two child cap and the amount of people on benefits fits not working. The elephant in the room is knowing a family of three need to be bring in the equivalent of £71k to match the same on benefits

@GeorgeWall1878 @RobertJenrick I take it if your pay rise this year equated to a princely £11 per week you would be happy with that? That equates to £572 per year..my weekly diesel bill has gone up more than that

@GeorgeWall1878 @RobertJenrick Kendrick wasn’t the PM announcing it. PM should be doing some serious stuff not prancing around on TikTok with this petty stuff.

@GeorgeWall1878 @RobertJenrick The triple lock is not the biggest problem with the welfare bill. People receiving the state pension have paid into it. People receiving benefits who have not contributed in a meaningful way to the economy and who don’t want to work is the bigger problem.

@CincyG58 @RobertJenrick The vast majority of people get way more back than they paid it. It's unsustainable to have something that grows faster than GDP indefinitely. I guess maths probably isn't your strong suit. Pair that with longer life expectancy and it's mad. "But we paid in" - take far more out

@GeorgeWall1878 @RobertJenrick The welfare bill is unaffordable because Labour & the RNLI are acting as a taxi service for thousands of illegal migrant men who are given free EVERYTHING instead of being booted back to France asap.
