SPACs are so dead no one even cares about floor drops anymore.

A few years ago my dog went out for her morning potty and there was a rabbit under a bush in the front yard.

Since then, every single morning she goes and looks in that same spot for a rabbit before doing her business, even though there has never been another.

I think she was a bio investor in her previous life.

The premarket action on IMSR had me a little worried today. Looked like someone got their shares and wanted out fast. But maybe it was just someone getting spooked by the unlock.

It recovered nicely.

A lot of times shares from unlocks aren't really tradeable for a couple days, may not be totally out of the woods here.
I actually bought some $IMSR today.

I like the setup - $30m EV, 10% short. I do not think we will see selling on the final unlock next week, and it should get included in Russell 2000 - rank day is 10/30.

Definitely punished with tax loss selling, so if it doesn't work short term, I think it works into next year.

If it dips on unlock I'll add.

I think there comes a moment in every SPAC cycle where people forget that you shouldn't short before floor drop.

This has been forgotten over 7m times recently.

Kind of amazing that Unitree $688836 is up 80% in 2 weeks and there is no interest at all in $CCXI $AGLT

I didn't need as much time as I thought on $MRNA
If you like this thesis you can get Jan 240/220 put spreads for $11. Doesn't seem wild.

$MRNA will end up being a good example of how tax loss harvesting works on shorts.

$AVR is interesting to me.
-40% off recent highs - beat up with rates/XBI move but has no debt.
-100 patient data on 11/22
-$MDT with 16% stake, board seat, and some optionality.
-L1 Capital has been adding, currently 13%
-Smart folks 🐑say they have the best TAVR valve.
-CMO seems to have a lot of confidence in the below interview.

Seems like as good a place as any to lose some money.

If you have been in $IMSR all year like I have it is pretty painful. There is nothing to be excited about.

But if it's not something you have ever touched and think you want some Nuclear exposure, it's sitting at about $30m EV with years of cash and I think there will be some -6 months.

It may be more heavily shorted than I realized.
I see 14m shares versus free float of about 66m.

Next Wednesday the artificial floor under $CCXI will fall, and it will go down fast.

This isn't a joke or reverse psychology. It's a warning.

You shouldn't hold a position you aren't comfortable seeing an immediate 25% drop in.

It might bounce back fast. It might bounce back slow. It might keep going down.

But if you have decided that you will sell if it drops, you should just sell now or redeem. Because it will happen. Save yourself that pain and put your focus elsewhere.

It will have it's day, but it may not be anytime soon and it may not be from the current price.
