.@MikeRogersForMI opened an office in Detroit.
A few hours later I spoke to @AbdulElSayed.
"That's cute," he said.
But beneath the bravado has been a flurry of Black outreach.

Just as I predicted over a year ago. Young Hispanics with immigrant parents are voting for the first time to protect their loved ones who are being hunted down by ICE. Amazing to see.
As turnout in Texas nears 3 million votes, Hispanic turnout is now exceeding presidential levels. More Hispanics have voted than did at this point in the 2024 presidential election. What's driving this huge increase? Young voters.

All of us need to go all in for Angie. Moments like these don’t come by often and Angie is a once in a generation candidate. Florida deserves to have a fighter like her.

Today, I’m honored to share that President Obama is supporting our campaign for the U.S. Senate.
President @BarackObama & I both started as organizers in our communities, because we immediately understood that real changes come from regular folks joining the fight.

On Wednesday, New York politician Brad Lander called Israel's occupation a crime. On Friday, he described the killing of two Israeli soldiers in the illegally occupied West Bank a "criminal act."
The two soldiers were killed at an illegal Israeli military checkpoint near Hebron, in territory where the International Court of Justice ruled in 2024 that Israel’s continued presence is unlawful.
Under international humanitarian law, military personnel are generally legitimate targets, and attacking them is not in itself a war crime, unlike deliberately targeting civilians.
The act of armed resistance is “criminal,” however, under Israeli military law, which Israel unlawfully imposes on Palestinians in the illegally occupied West Bank.
The UN General Assembly has repeatedly affirmed "the legitimacy of the struggle of peoples" against "foreign occupation by all available means, including armed struggle," most notably in Resolution 37/43 in 1982.
No civilians were reported killed in Friday's operation.

I’m grieving the deaths of the two Israeli soldiers killed in Hebron today, and praying for the full & speedy recovery of those who were injured.
I’ve spoken out loudly this week against Israel’s occupation of the West Bank, which imposes violence on a daily basis, and I will continue to do so. But violence is not the path to ending it — or to achieving safety, freedom, and peace for both Palestinians and Israelis.
And neither is collective punishment or ethnic cleansing of an entire neighborhood, or punishing millions of people for the criminal act of two, which Netanyahu has promised to enact in response.
I’ve seen a lot this week and I’ll have more to say about in the coming days (I’m on my way home shortly). There is a path to ending this excruciating cycle of violence. It starts by insisting that every life is sacred, that everyone is created in God’s image.
For now: Shabbat Shalom, to everyone who believes in the hard work of making peace & justice a reality, for everyone.

This cuts out the part where the Mother of the Year claimed Acton didn’t live in a tent at one point, which was provably false. Instead it’s just her saying Acton lied about Ramaswamy, with no specifics
Update: there is now a 30 second version of the Vivek Ramaswamy ad featuring Amy Acton’s estranged mother

Matthew Yglesias continues to say that talking about ICE and excessive force in immigration enforcement helps Republicans. He is obviously wrong about this and refuses to acknowledge the data. Way past time for everyone to update their priors on this.

This Nazi keeps speaking for Angie Nixon and no one is asking him to. At least, no one who wants Angie to win.
NEW in @playbookdc: Florida Republicans are comparing Angie Nixon to Trump.
They say her campaign echoes Trump’s unfiltered style and focus on economic populism.
“There are parts of her speech that were indistinguishable from a Trump 2024 speech,” @jamesfishback told me.
He making a mistake by not investing more in her race.

A collapse in turnout among younger Republicans is a major driver of the GOP’s early-voting slump with low-propensity voters in North Carolina and Georgia.
Under-45 Republicans are showing little enthusiasm thus far, consistent with broader national polling.

73% of your campaign donations go to consultants and vendors; only 13% goes toward ads. This is 4x the cut consultants made 20 years ago. Important work by @JakeMGrumbach and Adam Bonica on the capture of the Democratic Party by consultants.
