NOBODY IS TELLING YOU THE REAL STORY OF THE DELTA TARMAC HEAT INCIDENT
Yes, passengers were trapped on a Delta plane in nearly 100-degree heat for over 3 hours.
Yes, Delta didn't pass out water and wouldn't let anyone deplane.
Yes, Laura Loomer is filing an FAA complaint and ion Secretary.
But here's the part everyone is missing:
Federal rules already require airlines to offer deplaning before the 3-hour mark on domestic flights. Water and food are required under contingency plans by the 2-hour mark. Delta's own published policy says crew must notify the pilot-in-command when cabin temperature falls outside acceptable levels — and the pilot may return to the gate.
→ The 3-hour domestic tarmac delay rule exists specifically to prevent this
→ The 2-hour water requirement exists specifically to prevent this
→ Delta's own contingency plan covers exactly this scenario
→ There were babies and elderly passengers on board
→ A 2023 Delta flight in Las Vegas hit 111°F on the tarmac — DOT investigated that one too
If federal rules require deplaning before 3 hours and Delta didn't comply, then this isn't a customer service failure — it's a potential FAR violation.
If it's a potential FAR violation, then an FAA complaint doesn't just go into a folder — it triggers a formal investigation.
If a formal investigation opens, then Delta faces civil penalties, not just bad press.
If Delta faces civil penalties for a second high-profile heat incident in three years, then the DOT has a pattern — and patterns lead to rulemaking, not just fines.
That's what nobody is saying out loud.
The rules to protect those passengers already existed. The question is whether anyone enforces them.

Here we have Delta Airlines flight from Hawaii to LA booting a family off because they needed one of the seats for a passenger on standby.. because Delta overbooked the flight.
I realize this happens a lot, but what makes this incident a little more insidious is that the flight off the plane threatened he and his wife with arrest , have their children taken away from them and placed in foster care . Additionally,no other accommodations would be made for this family.
The airline to my knowledge has acknowledged the incident apologized, and said they would be looking into things..
WHAT ?
What the hell happened to customer service and professionalism ?

@Delta Just started the process of switching over from JetBlue card/flights to Delta @AmexJP card/flights. On our first trip back w/ Delta. Full of delays & broken planes. On our second undetermined delay due to another mechanical failure. Luckily we are early on & can stay w/ JetBlue

@Delta 3 horrible booking tries! I have given up booking on line…tedious and unreliable. The last 3 booking tries have been via phone and have been equally as bad. Finished booking flight that I started yesterday. Agent said I need to watch cc as it may been stolen…by phone call to DA

@Delta when they bail on the flight. Unbelievable, ATL being the HUB, never fails, my daughters flights are delayed for hours because there is no crew. How does this even happen? I can tell you it has never happened on American Airlines on this route. Delta is out from now on!

@Delta That’s nice, but please inform Delta flight attendants that chintzy flair buttons are not part of the uniform, and make them look unprofessional. Those expressing support for the AFA (which most passengers oppose, why many of us fly Delta) should be explicitly prohibited. 🙄

First our flight from CDMX was delayed and were told we had to dump fuel prior to takeoff and then didn’t have enough fuel to get to our destination, JFK
