As I just said on @Niall_Boylan show about The Population Crash on RTE, in the future religious people are going to be a very precious commodity because they will continue to marry and have children in above average numbers. @MiriamOCal @danobrien20 @higginsdavidw

I will be on the Niall Boylan show shortly discussing last night's programme on RTE about the coming demographic crisis.
Coming up on the show after 12pm: RTÉ aired part one of Ireland’s Population Crash last night, examining why Ireland’s birth rate has fallen well below the level needed to sustain the population.
If fewer children are being born, what does that mean for Ireland’s future? Some gration, the economy would struggle and the population would decline even faster. Others worry about what this means for the country’s identity and future.
Are you concerned about Ireland’s falling birth rate and changing population?
David Quinn joins me to discuss the documentary. Have your say on air or WhatsApp us on 085 100 22 55

In our latest podcast, @CormacLucey and I discuss why Trump breaking his promises has been disastrous for the Republicans, and whether @FineGael is now too 'woke'. (Link in replies).

Very important documentary airing tonight on RTE about an underappreciated problem in Ireland, namely our fast approaching demographic crisis.

Absolutely crushing defeat for Trump and the GOP. The coalition they built in 2024 smashed into a million pieces within 2 years by a stupid decision to go to war in Iran, a stagnant economy and a crippling cost of living crisis. Nobody to blame but themselves. Trump finished.

Hang on, isn't Kristin Scott Thomas in charge of MI5? She would never put up with treatment like this from her grandchildren.
Nope...not for me! 😠
This years John Lewis Christmas ad, in summary.
Nan needs a hug, rude kids barge past her, ignoring her completely.
Kids don't like Nans childhood presents, so Nan goes out shopping to John Lewis to buy things they like to placate them.
Nan eventually gets t grandkids get the presents they want.
Oh, and a rickshaw ride round London for good measure!
An absolutely dreadful story of kids attitudes towards the elderly today, and blatant consumerism - I for one, won't be shopping there this year! 🎁 🎅🎄

Everyone praises Poland for its economic performance. Note well: this is taking place outside the Euro.

Well, the balance of that Liveline item was strongly pro-euthanasia despite a couple of anti-euthanasia voices. No surprise there.

'My body, my choice', says the fella on @rteliveline who supports euthanasia, as though life and death choices affect no-one else and can never be influenced.

Total rubbish from the pro-euthanasia campaigner now speaking. The EU is very far from legislating for euthanasia and few European countries allow it so far.

A reminder: the Democrats badly lost the mid-terms both times under Barack Obama. After the second one, the Republicans controlled both houses.

This article published in the Examiner recently raises the very intriguing possibility that it was construction workers in 1970s, and not the nuns, who put bodies in that underground chamber at Tuam. This would be big.

Who will David MCullagh be interviewing today about the Israeli election? The rabidly anti-Israeli Francesca Albanese, of course. @Alan__Shatter @RachelMoiselle @abrahamson_ed

The row in Poland is basically over which judges have been legitimately appointed, those backed by the pro-EU government or those backed by the opposition? Naturally, Brussels is backing the Government. It should keep out of the country's internal affairs.
