Dash is probably the fastest, most secure way to send fully-private shielded payments based on Zcash's privacy tech.
I'm obviously a fan of Zcash, but let's be honest, speed and security are some of the biggest weak spots.
For years I've enjoyed the Dash experience of "in 1 second it's permanently irreversible." It's a major competitive advantage.
With Zcash, waiting ~25 seconds (after the new faster blocks are approved) to get some kind of security, then many minutes (at least) to be reasonably (but never fully) sure the transaction is finalized, isn't optimal.
And, having to worry about mining pool centralization (which was a big problem just recently) isn't optimal either. Both of those are what mainly keep me using Dash right now.
Crosslink looks to be a good step towards closing this gap.
If not Crosslink, another solution to get finality in Zcash much, much faster than we have right now should be proposed. "Nah it's fine now" isn't an option IMHO.

Dash (@Dashpay) has been working on this since 2015, when the project took the name Dash, short for โdigital cash.โ The goal hasnโt changed: make crypto erms with fiat.
While other projects chased new narratives, Dash went where people pay in crypto because they need to, not because theyโre curious. In Latin America that meant merchant onboarding programmes, eventually reaching Traki, Venezuelaโs largest retail chain. Then came wallets for people without an exchange account. Today itโs payment cards and partner networks. Shops in Southeast Asia, Nigeria, Mexico and Brazil accept DASH by QR code, and the merchant is paid in local currency.
๐ Work like this is what turns crypto payments into a normal option. On our side, weโre removing the fee to make paying in Dash easier.
