Gutes Gespräch mit Maria Noichl, MdEP zum Thema Online Safety. Unsere Unternehmen tun bereits viel zum Schutz von Minderjährigen. Sie brauchen aber einen verlässlichen rechtlichen Rahmen um weiterhin kinderpornographisches Material zu identifizieren und zu melden.

Gestern haben @ccianet @ITI_TechTweets und wir einen kleinen Empfang organisiert. Für unseren Geschäftsführer gab es am Vorabend seines Geburtstag die Gelegenheit sich für die ersten 10 Monate der Zusammenarbeit in Brüssel zu bedanken.

The new #ImplementationDialogues are in full swing. Today, Commissioner McGrath convened stakeholders to explore the implementation of the #GDPR.

#DOTEurope believes it is important to 💭

👉Promote harmonisation – Diverging national interpretations and enforcement priorities he Regulation’s full potential. We encourage the #EDPB to work toward greater coherence and guidance across Member States.

👉Defend the risk-based approach – This remains one of the #GDPR’s key strengths, but inconsistent interpretations and enforcement pose risks. Especially, company size should not be treated as a proxy for risk.

👉Ensure coherence across the digital rulebook – The GDPR does not operate in isolation. More clarity and coherence is needed where it overlaps with new legislation such as the #DSA, #AIAct, and #DataAct.

👉Simplify for competitiveness – Outdated or burdensome rules, including cookie provisions under the #ePrivacy Directive, should be re-evaluated and further scope for simplification explored, especially around international data transfers.

The #GDPR remains a robust and effective framework. By focusing on enhanced dialogue, clear guidance, and a steadfast commitment to its risk-based principles, the #EuropeanCommission can further strengthen the GDPR's implementation, ensuring a secure and thriving digital economy for all.
