As promised, that bayou game I started building using @threejs inspired by the GTA 6 bayou scene is open source: github.com/Vheissu/emeral… has a living world and continues to grow. Alligators, missions, people fishing, other boats, day/night and more.

Is it just me or does Anthropic's stock already feel nerfed? It hasn't even IPO'd yet but I swear it was performing better last week.

Jack has clearly never tried walking into the business, looking the manager in the eye and giving him a firm handshake.
A Princeton PhD graduate whose research was cited by the Nobel committee can’t find a job, after applying to over 2,300 roles since 2024
Jack Weis is now living with his parents, and has even been turned down for food prep jobs

Don't worry everyone. Microsoft offering 60k employees voluntary redundancy just means they'll finally have enough money to finally fix Windows.

I'm starting to think we could defeat Skynet by putting all our nuclear launch codes inside those plastic packages that scissors come in.
I see how some people can watch flashy robot demos on the timeline and think with a shiver that the robot apocalypse is around the corner, but reality check:
There is no robot in the world that can change the batteries in a jack-o-lantern.
If you have a robot friendly door handle it might be able to walk outside, pick it up, and carry it back inside. The robot could open the drawer with your batteries in it, but then things get tough.
Opening the package of AA batteries?
Extracting a precision screwdriver from its case?
Unscrewing four tiny screws that require a hard press and twist?
Popping batteries out of the case?
Yes, you could build and train a specialist robot to do that today, but there is a very long way to go to replace the full range of human capabilities. Near term doomer scenarios should stop at “secretly controlling humanity” instead of “wiping humanity out” 😀

I'm starting to suspect the economy isn't solely to blame for the global birth rate crisis.

Who is building a new internet? Looks like the current one doesn't have long left. Might be a good opportunity to rewrite it in Rust.
SITUATION UPDATE: Following GMO Internet's refusal to pay a $50M ransom, the hackers behind the breach have promised to trigger ransomware covertly planted on customers' PCs via the cloud. GMO is urging users to unplug network cables, and power off their PCs before noon today.

Why are a bunch of countries saying this all of a sudden, what is going on that people haven't been told about yet?
#BREAKING: Japanese Minister Hosono issues emergency request urging citizens to stockpile food and water.Community noteHosono announced he will issue the "emergency request" on Nov. 2 with the new Disaster Prevention Agency launch. It urges standard stockpiles of 3+ days food/water/toilets for known quake risks like Nankai Trough, not any imminent threat.

I asked Codex to design some branding for my app and the brief was "tech meets gangster" and this is what it created. One of the worse things ever. You'd see this on the back of a lifted truck or something.

Just learned that Google is removing third-party email account support and aliases in January 2027. Wtf? This was such a good way to create new emails pairing it with Resend and being able to have them all inside the Gmail app and UI.

The AI abundance is finally here.
An abundance of unemployment for workers, an abundance of profits for shareholders and an abundance of LinkedIn posts from people who just got laid off.
What a time to be alive.

“Microsoft Offers Exit Packages to 60,000
Employees Amid AI Push”
Wow!
60,000 Microsoft—gone as AI “replaces” them.
This is the end of work as we know it.

I'm seriously digging the branding that I've got cooking for my app. I usually don't like a lot of the stuff I create branding wise because I'm not a designer.

You can really tell how much AI has helped with shipping based on my Github contributor graph. I definitely feel like I've been shipping more.

I'm seriously considering buying Anthropic stock when it IPOs. Opus 5.5 and Fable have me bullish.
The only thing stopping me is knowing Dario could wake up one Tuesday, say a bunch of crazy shit on CNBC and send my portfolio straight to hell.

Okay, maybe I took those benchmarks OpenAI released too hastily. People seem to be making amazing stuff using 6.1 Terra. There might be something in this model after all.
GPT-6.1 Terra (NEW) vs Claude Sonnet 5.5, both on High.
Same prompt: a red supercar driving through Miami at night, built from scratch in Blender.
Top: GPT-6.1 Terra (10 min, ~$0.31)
Bottom: Sonnet 5.5 (1 hr 26 min, $15.20)
