Coinbase has not had a data breach.

Amplitude, an analytics vendor, experienced a security incident which impacted a small subset of Coinbase customer contact data, among other Amplitude customers.

We’ve found no evidence of unauthorized access to Coinbase systems, and customer funds were not impacted.

We are notifying impacted customers and regulatory agencies in accordance with our legal obligations.

2/ Before trading, confirm:

• The contract address
• Asset flags and token permissions
• Liquidity, price impact, and holder concentration
• The network and fees

If anything looks unclear, pause.

4/ If you proceed, a small test transaction may help you confirm token liquidity.

Never connect your wallet or sign a transaction from an unverified link. Losses from unverified tokens may be outside Coinbase’s ability to address.

1/ DEX assets trade on third-party decentralized exchanges and may not go through Coinbase’s listing process.

If you’re using a self-custody wallet, verify what you’re signing. Onchain transactions generally can’t be reversed.

Security score helps surface settings that may need attention.

Use it as a checklist for practical account-protection steps, not as proof that your account is risk-free.

Set a Time delay from 6–48 hours. During the wait, watch the transfer details and cancel a pending transfer if it looks suspicious. Coinbase may send email, SMS, and push notifications.

Settings and methods can vary by account or product.

Know the emergency button: use Lock account only if someone has gained unauthorized access. Locking signs you out on all devices; unlocking requires identity verification.

Transfer Protection can add extra checks to outbound transfers. We’ll cover that more here later on.
