Excited to share the official launch of the Tennessee Cardiac Surgery Consortium (TCSC), a statewide initiative dedicated to enhancing quality improvement throughout Tennessee. Our mission involves fostering collaboration across various disciplines, drawing insights from itiatives, and engaging with our local communities to elevate surgical outcomes through data-driven strategies and the exchange of best practices.

Our inaugural in-person TCSC gathering is scheduled for April 15th in Nashville, featuring keynote speaker Senator Bill Frist, M.D.. We are thrilled to unite colleagues from all cardiac surgery programs statewide, including the 19 participants in The Society of Thoracic Surgeons database.

The @VUMCTransplant team set a world record by performing 174 adult and pediatric heart transplants in 2024. The number of patients whose lives were saved by the heart transplant team far surpasses any previous total by an individual transplant center.
