Can humanoids assemble IKEA furniture?

We’re inviting researchers to test their policies at the Humanoid IKEA Assembly Challenge at @ieeeras IROS 2026.

2/ The challenge: a Unitree G1 must assemble an IKEA UTTER table (1 top, 4 twist-on legs) autonomously.

The rules:
→ No teleop
→ 3 checkpoints: Inventory → Partial → Final
→ Fastest clean run wins

Damaging the table ends the run and human assist → penalty.

3/ Every registered team has resources to get started, no Unitree G1 and hardware needed:

→ 500+ whole-body teleoperation episodes
→ @LightwheelAI sim environment & benchmark
→ Remote real-world eval on a G1 via @singaporetech

4/ We want any team, anywhere to be able to compete, so our co-organizers are making it possible.

→ Train on our teleop dataset from day one
→ Validate in sim
→ Ship your checkpoint + @singaporetech tests on a G1 before IROS
