On electoral prediction markets, bets can be placed in an attempt to influence the results, not just predict them. Here's what to know bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

We reported this a year ago — highlighting how foreign whales appeared to be propping up Mamdani’s odds.

Abdul El-Sayed claims Medicare For All, which would cost at least $40 trillion, would not add a penny to the deficit

It’s easy to sell bad policies if you’re willing to just lie about their consequences.
Which happens to be a central theme of El-Sayed’s campaign.

Rob Sand claims that he has no other income outside of his state salary.
In 2022, his salary was $103,212... That same year, he personally donated $131,000 to his Auditor campaign and an additional $30,000 to the Iowa Democrat Party.
He donated more money to his own campaign employee.
Rob is actively hiding how wealthy he is from Iowans-- and it's because it would reveal that he's a billionaire trying to buy an election.

Still can’t get over how awkward Abdul was willing to be to prevent Bret from reading Abdul’s own 2012 words about the Muslim Brotherhood back to him.

WOW this exchange.
@BretBaier tried to give Abdul El-Sayed a chance to finally explain the 2012 letter in support of the Muslim Brotherhood and Abdul awkwardly tries to speak over him.
This flailing defensiveness is why we’re on week 3 on this issue.

The point of no return by Richard von Mises is worth reading:
"A state becomes almost unreformable when the majority of the population is financially or structurally dependent on the state (state employees, civil servants, recipients of subsidies, grants, or transfer payments, who net benefit from or are supported by the state outnumber those who do not, the system blocks reforms, since the majority votes out of self-interest for the preservation or expansion of state services."
Does this sound familiar? Some European countries, France, Belgium, Finland are already way beyond that point, closely followed by Germany, Spain, Austria and Italy. It works for a while, as long as markets buy more sovereign debt at reasonable interest rates. The party ends when they stop though. For France, they stopped this month, Belgium will be next.
The longer the socialist illusion persists, the more painful the inevitable cuts and adjustments will be. It’s pure arithmetic. Good luck Europe, good luck Euro. Buckle up, it won’t be pretty.

This isn't entirely true. Obamacare made healthcare free for 30% of Americans and widely expanded medicaid for those people.
The reason Obamacare made healthcare go up for most people is because most people are now paying for the bottom 30% to have better healthcare than themselves.

207k ballots voted by mail and in person in Iowa and only 3.3% ages 18-25.
The polls are modeling much higher. This is not good for Dem statewide candidates because one of their keys to victory is a stupidly high margin in Johnson County, home to the U of Iowa.

A husband and wife with four kids will spend $3-4,000 and more per month on medical insurance now, and it buys nothing but the right to pay more when you actually use it. This is an outrage. More outrageous, there is hardly any political talk about this fixing this problem even though the fix is readily at hand. Unsustainable.

What are the odds??! 😅
Thankfully Ilhan Omar only got one bill passed. Which bill, you wonder? I'm glad you asked.
She introduced the MEALS Act, which made it into law. You know, the bill that allowed millions of dollars in covid funding to be funneled directly to Somalians in Minneapolis. Yes, really! 🤗
