My heartfelt congratulations - @alexanderdecroo - as you begin your tenure today as @UNDP Administrator. I wish you all the best as you navigate these times of change and join the @UN and an amazing team and organisation at the core of the sustainable development promise!

With ⁦@fionaharvey⁩ of The Guardian I explored the implications for national security of a singular focus on investing in a ‘defense and deterrence’ track while defunding international cooperation through a ‘development and resilience’ track. theguardian.com/environment/20…

It is with profound gratitude that I say ‘thank you and goodbye’ today to my colleagues in @UNDP and the @UN family.

It has been my honour to be part of this incredible organization for the last 8 years. 🙏

We live in a world with $480 trillion in assets yet only 4% of those assets go to low- and middle-income countries.

Imagine what we can do if we derisk investments & unlock private sector potential. @UNDP @UNCDF

One last opportunity to say farewell &🙏🏼to @UN DSG @AminaJMohammed. As both @UN_SDG Vice Chair & @UNDP Administrator, UN Reform & the #SDGs were a constant in our endeavour to advance #SustDev.

I am grateful for her leadership in championing SDG implementation & advocacy.

The scale of global crises is staggering - 1.2 billion people are vulnerable to climate change and over 305 million people need humanitarian aid.

Support from our donors allows us to respond immediately and support long-term recovery.

I was honoured to meet our @UNDPPalestinian colleagues in an online townhall. Their voices are heard loud and clear. I join in their sorrow following the killings of Ramzi Khader, Issam Al Mughrabi and their families.
@UNDP stands in full solidarity with this courageous team.

The ocean sustains all life on Earth. It covers 71% of our planet & holds 97% of its water. It feeds billions of people.

But it's under threat from overfishing, pollution & climate change. @UNDP and @francediplo_en partner to #SaveOurOcean & support communities.
