You’ve never filled out a death certificate, never treated a dying COVID patient, and your evidence is “my friend” plus whatever circulated in your Facebook group.

I have filled out death certificates. I know what “underlying cause of death” means, and I know the legal and professional consequences of falsifying one.

If someone dies from traumatic injuries in a car crash, COVID does not magically become the cause of death because they happened to test positive.

You are taking an anecdote you cannot verify and using it to accuse physicians across the country of fraud. And calling me a “dumb fuck” does not improve the evidentiary quality of the anecdote.

There are two types of people;

No HIV Vaccine: HIV has an insane mutation rate compared to COVID-19.

No Cancer Vaccines: Provenge, HPV and Hep B are all cancer vaccines. There are many more.

No Common Cold Vaccine: The common cold is not caused by one virus, so that's impossible.

COVID-19 Vaccine: The massive funding, prior research on recent MERS and SARS out breaks and prior MRNA vaccines made it easier.

It's not a conspiracy just because you don't understand biology...

No increased risk of 4-year all-cause mortality in individuals aged 18 to 59 years in persons vaccinated against COVID-19.

It's almost like antivaxers are liars and had no evidence...

I qualified as a doctor in 1985. I never saw a patient with these diseases in my entire professional career thanks to vaccines.

My great uncle qualified as a doctor in 1925. He saw children die of these diseases before vaccines.

Get vaccinated.

The argument goes like this: vaccinated people were gullible, obedient, low-information "sheep" who blindly followed authority, while the people who refused were the smarter ones who questioned everything and saw through the scam.

So I got curious:

What does the evidence actually show about cognitive ability and vaccination?

As it turns out, researchers have looked at this.

The strongest example is a Swedish study of more than 700,000 people. Their cognitive ability had been measured years earlier during military assessment, so the researchers weren't asking people to rate their own intelligence after deciding whether to vaccinate.

They then compared those scores with actual COVID vaccination records.

The result was clear and graded:

As measured cognitive ability increased, vaccination increased.

The highest scoring group reached 80% first-dose uptake in about 50 days. The lowest took about 180. The relationship persisted even in comparisons between twins, helping control for shared family background and many socioeconomic differences.

An Israeli study of more than 185,000 military personnel found the same direction, using cognitive scores recorded years before the pandemic and actual vaccination records: those who adhered to the recommended schedule scored higher than those who didn't.

A UK cohort study found lower pre-pandemic cognitive ability associated with greater vaccine hesitancy, with the odds of hesitancy rising 76% per standard deviation lower score, still elevated after adjusting for education. That one measured stated intention rather than behavior, so I'd weight it less. Worth noting the same cohort showed the pattern for seasonal flu too, so this isn't a COVID-specific artifact.

One detail I find more interesting than the scoreboard: when one Swedish region simply mailed people pre-booked appointments, almost the entire gap closed. That points at friction and complexity rather than comprehension of immunology.

Now, none of this means every vaccinated person is intelligent or every vaccine refuser is stupid. These are population-level associations with substantial overlap, and vaccine uptake is not the same thing as ideological anti-vaccine belief.

But it does create a fairly spectacular problem for the "vaccinated people are gullible sheep while the smart people refused" narrative.

If that story were true, you'd expect cognitive ability to trend in the opposite direction.

It doesn't.

So rejecting vaccines is not evidence that someone is smarter than the people who accepted them.

If anything, the population-level evidence points the other way. 🤓

Is the system fixed? No.
Are there still problems? Of course.
But is it “out of control”?
The numbers simply don’t support that claim.
Reform need you to believe everything is getting worse because fear and anger are their political fuel.
When the facts show progress, look at the figures… not the outrage.

Saddened by the passing of Peter Cullen, the 'voice' of Optimus Prime (and many more). I last met Peter at Botcon 2012, and - as ever - he was charming, engaging and wonderfully larger-than-life. His voice lives on in my head every time I write lines of dialog for Optimus. RIP.

Let’s pretend vaccines are just an agenda… Walk me through the actual objective here, because this conspiracy falls apart the second you apply basic logic.

Let’s assume the premise is true: every government, pharma company, and doctor on Earth conspired to distribute a deadly shot.

The Target: The people taking it are the ones who follow public health advice, work jobs, and support the system. Why eliminate your compliant base?

The Survivors: The only survivors would be the skeptics, anti-government dissidents, and political opposition. Why would “the elites” intentionally create a world populated only by the people who want to overthrow them?

The Outcome: Collapsing the global workforce instantly bankrupts the exact corporations and billionaires allegedly behind the plot.

What’s the motive? Power over a dead economy? Money in a collapsed financial system? Explain the point of the master plan.
