i spend 30mins on the first line than the rest of the post.
and it’s worth it, bcos nobody reads line two if line one doesn’t hold them.
here’s how i test mine before posting :
> i read it out loud.
if it sounds too formal, i rewrite it.
> i read the first line on its own.
if it wouldn’t make me stop scrolling, i rewrite it.
> i cut every word that isn’t pulling weight.
“here’s why X matters for your brand” becomes “your brand is ignoring this.”
the hook opens the door. if nobody walks in, the rest doesn’t matter.
which line do you rewrite the most, the first one or the last one?
