GENERATIONS AT WAR (Thanks @Daamianski again for the amazing render!)
Another article of the #AceCombat community art book! This time we discuss how 3 decades of constant warfare affect a nation on an individual level.
We also covered the story of the 57th Man-at-Arms from POOR FUCKING 57TH
-------
57th Man-At-Arms (Landmerton), North Point Territorial Force (Home Guard)
The 57th were a volunteer company mustered at the town of Landmerton in North Point under the Territorial and Reserve Forces Act 1907 during the Continental War. Consisted purely of local volunteers that are ineligible for military service, most of them were untrained young men and women lead by old veterans and a single ISAF Lieutenant River Williams (FCU).
After it was mustered, it was supposed to be guarding one of the many ports that are receiving retreating ISAF forced from the Usea mainland, but the unit were shipped out to Port Edwards with regular forces to Port Edwards due to shipping manifest errors. The civilian ferry carrying them were sunk by Erusea airstrikes, but the unit miraculously suffered no losses after picked up by nearby civilian ships.
Frustrated by the lone militia company wandering around, ISAF command ordered 57th to guard the small town of Sutton south of Port Edwards with ISAF 2nd IBCT (FCU). When the 2nd were ordered to retreat and evacuate, 57th were not notified and were abandoned at the edge of town. Without contact to command chain, the 57th remained at the town and withstanded a full day of Erusea artillery.
Armed only with small arms and outdated anti-tank weapon, they hold Sutton from an Erusean armored thrust for 2 days, buying precious time for the evacuation in Port Edwards. 57th were not relief by other units or resupplied as ISAF Command were not aware of the unit whereabouts.
Thinking Sutton were an ISAF strongpoint, the town were bypassed by Erusean forces. 57th remained at the town for a full day after ISAF fully evacuated Port Edwards and Lieutenant Williams decided to break out of Sutton. A chartered civilian fishing boat were able to pick up surviving troops near the shore of Port Edwards.
However, the boat was fired upon by patrolling ISAF gunboats and sunk just outside of North Point major port. 57th were then identified as friendly and were rescued by the gunboats, transfered back to their original posting.
Lacking manpower and combat units, the 57th were sent as part of second wave of landing force in Operation Bunkershot. Due to miscommunication, the landing craft carrying the 57th were spearheading the landing force, making 57th one of the first unit to step foot on Usea.
The 57th continued to fight along ISAF regulars as part of the ISAF 1st Infantry Division throughout the entire war and was one of the most decorated units in ISAF history. They earned their nickname "Poor Fucking 57th" as similar accidents, being intentional or not, continued to happen up until their march into Farbanti.
Despite its constant misfortunate, the 57th suffered relatively minor casualties and were disbanded after the war. Lieutenant Williams reside at Landmerton after the war and remained there as a primary school headmaster.

Except the parallel equivalent of Yuktobania is explicitly the USSR. The flag of Yuktobania is red and yellow based on the USSR.
Yuktobania’s full name is “Union og Yuktobanian Republics”, similar to “Union og Soviet Socialist Republics”.
