Bend2's Pitch Deck!

I'm so happy about this direction. After years of deep fried research, I feel like we finally built a well-rounded product that ppl will use to solve real world problems - and it connects so nicely to the stuff we'll build later on

@VictorTaelin Will bend2 have transpiler to other languages?

@true_jae_yang yes it will transpile to everything that exists

if Bend2 doesn't compile to it, it doesn't exist

(that's the goal)

@VictorTaelin 1. Which language first?
2. Using stuff other than standard libraries and packages for those languages, how will bend2 handle usage of those packages? (using FFIs? similar to how Nim users, another lang that transpiles to C and wasm, would have to?)

Thanks in advance

@true_jae_yangady done)

Python and Haskell next

all other untyped languages should follow quickly

typed languages like C++ in the future

Bend2 effects will be compiled to equivalent effects in the target language, no FFI

Bend2 is meant to be a disposable language - use it to write a file, compile to the actual language you're using, throw it away

@VictorTaelinThanks.

So if I wanted to use a library for kafka, it would have to be native bend2 kafka library instead of target lang’s library. Since you’d have to produce proof. Ok, got it.

> Bend2 is meant to be a disposable language
but most of the errors are due to functions across different file scopes, forgive me for being stupid here, so bend2 isn’t intended for that? At unit level in that case would work fine, but if transpiled code’s usage of a function for instance has not changed, then ai makes change to function, and that function passes bend2 muster, you’d still have error. Or am I retarded and just talking about a trivial case here?

Thank you kindly
