It's the smug certainty that gets me. The apparent inability to entertain the possibility that someone who disagrees with him might actually have a valid point.
For me, he embodies everything that's become so frustrating about a certain strand of modern progressive politics: selective outrage, ideological tunnel vision and an extraordinary confidence in being right.
Credit to both hosts. I genuinely don't know how you resisted the temptation to bang your heads against the table.

By the way, a recession is good- it reduces the misallocation of capital in an economy. It's painful because the false growth created jobs and businesses that weren't productive but were subsidised through the misallocation of public funds. That capital in time, is reallocated to more productive ends and society as a whole becomes richer.
