Picture this

How crazy is this? Being able to create a game before reading/writing full sentences

This is the future

I am noticing the same with my kids

Education has changed forever .. every child gets to explore their creative side like never before in this era

My dear non-developer friends: did you ever wonder what an "API CLI" even means?

Well, here is a quick primer: (i love analogies!)

Think of an API as a restaurant's order window. So take Google API.
Yours and anyone’s software uses it to ask Google "make me an image of X".

But you have to speak its exact language.. one wrong model name and the order bounces.

A CLI is a text box where you type one short command and it just runs. Like a powerful multi lingual waiter.

Put them together and you get a waiter who already knows the kitchen.

Your AI agent says "image of a cat" and it gets the image back.

That's what Google just shipped for Gemini this week👇🏼
Introducing Gemini API CLI (gemini-api), now available in preview!

Our CLI gives your agent power to generate images, videos, text-to-speech, or music, analyze media, transcribe audio, or manage agents.

No more guessing model strings, throwaway scripts or endless curl.

Why did a company that made chips for video games become one of the most valuable companies on Earth?

I’m talking about @nvidia

Here's the simplest way I've found to explain it..

A CPU is one genius professor. Brilliant, but he solves every problem alone, one step at a time.
l of students doing simple sums. All at once.

Modern AI is just billions of tiny multiplications.

You don't need a genius. You need a crowd 🏟️

Every team has docs nobody trusts..

The person who fixed that at Stripe and Uber just launched @falconer_ai

Internal knowledge and public docs in one place, kept fresh and ready for agents.

Congrats Dave 👊
Trillions are pouring into the race to build the first general superintelligence, but leveraging your own specialized know-it-all is now possible as of today.

I built the knowledge systems at @stripe and @Uber. Then I helped Anthropic, Metronome, and Graphite build a killer veryone wants Stripe-level quality, but that bar is too low.

Falconer gives you and your customers complete, specialized intelligence: an internal knowledge base and external documentation in one beautiful package. Falconer is the ultimate trust engine to manage your context: self-driving, observable, and agent-friendly.

I co-founded @falconer_ai with @mbenedetto212 and assembled a team of know-it-all builders. We're backed by fellow know-it-alls @thegp, @BoxGroup, @svangel, @karimatiyeh, @benln, @zachlloydtweets, @CeciStalls, @MerrillLutsky, @scottmac, @malthe, and @adamjstevenson, with angels from Anthropic, Stripe, Meta, Cursor, Replit, and more.

Frontier intelligence companies like @FireworksAI_HQ and @⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛; fintech companies like @payabli and @vori; and healthtech companies like @thatch_ai use @falconer_ai because they all share the same vision as us: the knowledge you earn should belong to you.

Now you can know everything, so you can build anything.

My north star for Foursquare’s culture (2010s) was always, “We want people to look back and think, ‘That was the best job I ever had because those were the best people I ever worked with’.”

@dens the legend 🫡
Foursquare was acquired last month. The outcome was disappointing. It's taken me a while to write this, but I think I'm finally done grieving it. Here are some thoughts on our final years, an effort to honor the team who helped build & maintain FSQ's legacy, and my attempt to finateendrama.substack.com/p/some-final-w…

Here's what's actually going on, in plain words..

Think of your health records like email.

Right now ChatGPT is refreshing your inbox. Every time you ask "what does my lab result mean?", it goes back to the hospital's system (Epic) and says "send me everything again."

The hospital has to fetch it, package it and send it. Every single question. And it pays for that computing.

Federal law says it can't charge you or your app for access to your own records. So the hospital is footing the bill while ChatGPT explains your scan instead of a follow up visit.

It's like a restaurant paying the delivery app every time you order from a different restaurant 😅

Now imagine email arriving automatically instead.

New lab result lands, it shows up in your AI already explained. No constant refreshing. Less load on the hospital. Better for everyone.

That's why I'm hopeful @OpenAI and Epic find a way to work together on this instead of fighting over it.

Because one thing is clear..

People WANT to talk to their own health data with AI. That's not a trend you can stop. It's inevitable.

The only question is who builds the good version first 🤔
Incredibly, hospitals are now paying for AI companies to disrupt them. 🤦‍♂️

Patients linking their MyChart accounts to @OpenAI's ChatGPT rose more than 7,000% in a single month at 69-hospital @advocatehealth, its CIO Bobbie Byrne told @becker’sHR.

Patients set this up so that the AI can explain their lab results, scans, and doctors’ notes. You know, instead of one of Advocate's doctors.

To add insult to disruption, every time a patient asks ChatGPT a question, Advocate’s Epic system has to look up and send the records and pay for the computing resources that make that happen. AND — brace yourself — Federal law says Advocate can't charge patients, or their apps, for that access to the patient's own records.

So a health system is paying for a competitor’s access to its own patients’ records. The competitor takes away the followup visit, and the healthcare system pays for that to happen — both in lost revenue and in increased computing costs.

That’s Interpretation Migration, subsidized by the disruptee. buff.ly/DlyODMb #DrYou #InterpretationMigration #Disruption

FACT: @Netlify Agent Runners has evolved so much the year that you must definitely give it a try again

It’s faster (thx to open models)
It’s better (thx to models like Opus 5.5)
It’s smarter (thx to Ask mode)

Join us this week where we break down the latest updates and chat w/ the people behind the scenes (Gehrig & Vanessa) 👇🏼
On Thursday, Oct 22 at 1 PM ET, @thisiskp_ and @taniacryptid are going live with two of the people who built Interactive Agent Runners, Vanessa Ramos (@deepbane) and Gehrig Kunz (@gehrigkunz).

They'll walk through how each change came together and demo it live, from Ask mode to lines of code you want the agent to change.

"The next leap in AI coding won't come from OpenAI or Anthropic." Big bet with a $5.5M seed behind it..

But they're right about one thing. Your sessions are the most valuable training data you own, and right now they just disappear.

Hyped to see this one open source 💪
We’re betting our $5.5M seed round that the next leap in AI coding won’t come from OpenAI or Anthropic.

It’ll come from a new feedback loop that learns from you.

Introducing Beacon: open-source, self-improving memory for coding agents.

Your sessions capture how you debug and that context gets lost and you have to re-explain things every time you switch tools.

Beacon continuously distills your sessions into reusable skills across Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and 20+ harnesses, so your next agent can learn from the last.

Beacon is free and OSS 🌟 github.com/Asymptote-Labs…

Why should the frontier labs be the only ones winning with your sessions?

You already did the work. Now let your coding agents learn from you.

Best community site on @Netlify today

Thanks for sharing @chrija
I've built this little website to view my @goodreads bookshelf in a much nicer way:

bookshelf-aea8f1.netlify.app

If you'd like to get a version for your books, LMK and I'll open-source the code on Github ... or I'll just give you the prompt ... or you just point Claude/Codex to the /rebuild it. :)

Notion, Stripe, Netlify and a handful of companies are pre-AI era companies are really benefiting from the rise of agents

How? Through docs that are human and agent friendly

Through welcoming agents happily via dedicated entry points:

> netlify.ai

> projects.dev

Through re architecting core services and adding robust MCPs

It’s not accidental, it’s because of hundreds of little decisions like the one here in this video
I've been personal agent-maxing lately, and loving it. The new products are proactive, useful, and so fun. They get even better when they know me well.

So I built a portable context vault in Notion and connected every agent to it. They write back new memories, skills, and each morning.

Now, whenever I try a new agent, the first thing I do is connect my vault, and it instantly gets all my preferences in one shot. I can also start a project with one agent, and switch over to another seamlessly.

I shot a quick video to walk through the setup. LMK if you have any questions!

AI in education is my fav application
In July we open-sourced a dynamic graph of everything a child learns in primary school. 1,590 concepts, 3,221 dependencies.

Now we’re turning every concept into interactive experiments kids can play and learn from.

First one, age 7: heat and water.

Everything that used to be ow be an engaging experience, potentially tailored to every child.

Kids education just got a massive upgrade.

Did you ever wonder what in the world does “serverless” mean?

Well, here is goes:

Owning a server is like owning a pizza shop..

You pay rent every day, even when nobody walks in.

Serverless is a ghost kitchen.

It only fires up when an order arrives, scales to 8 kitchens once, and stays dark when it's quiet.

You write the recipe. Someone else runs the kitchen 🍕 the full video explains it 👇🏼
