Anyone else catching the $GOOGL knife? Such an outlandish move in the context of what is not really an outlandishly bad report. Yet another instance of reactionary selling on scary numbers just generated by AI investment...same setup that Tesla presented after Q2. The first real trend deviation for GOOGL in a while. Have a hard time imagining there is not at least a dead cat to play here.

$AAPL very encouraging preliminary indications for iPhone Duo. If Apple can find some way to get the stock in time, we may see something historic this holiday cycle.
Revolutionary hardware + dramatically improved software for anyone <iPhone 15 = one of the greatest incentives Apple has had in years.
Revolutionary hardware + dramatically improved software for anyone <iPhone 15 = one of the greatest incentives Apple has had in years.
iPhone Duo may be Apple's hottest product ever.
It currently has the longest lead time of any iPhone in history. By far.
Every Duo variant is currently showing a delivery date of 1/25/27, or 94 days after release––nearly 3x longer than the previous record held by the iPhone X.
etter by the day. $AAPL
Methodology:
All data comes from me scouring the internet for historical lead times. I tried to mirror today's conditions as closely as possible by targeting reports from the first day of preorders, a few hours after they opened.
I took the shortest lead time for any variant of the model available on Apple's US online store. Sometimes there would be one color that had longer times than others; for instance, the Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus had 6-8 weeks of lead time, but other colors were much more accessible, so those are the lead times reflected.
The idea is to show the fastest way to get some version of the model in your hands to best appreciate raw demand for the device itself.

I have decided the move on AAPL is to wait for the news to be sold when a huge price is unveiled for the folded iPhone and then look for an opportunity to back up the truck.
I’ve been thinking about this and I can’t really imagine a scenario where this is not a sell the news event. So much expectation is baked in, I’m not sure how reality can exceed.
The only real wild card could be if the folded phone is extremely cheap or has a good and cheap alternate version shipped with it which seems pretty improbable and would be easy enough to adapt to in the moment if it does manifest.

$TSLA beautiful continuation today, as expected. Nearing $100/share for the overall trade off the lows.
Exceptionally strong day on $TSLA today, invalidating what was technically a bearish semi-"Last Hurrah" setup on its hourly, against the grain of the market on the day today.
This thing has quite a bit of juice in the tank.
You'll have to forgive my crude drawing here, I will explanation of this pattern below. This never technically fit the exact mold of what you would expect to actually follow through for a real "Last Hurrah" in fundamental terms (because this is happening in the context of a move off the lows, in a very "oversold" relative position overall), but the pattern does still exist and, when invalidated, is reinforcing to a bullish longer term thesis.

$TSLA $350. Love to see it.
Around that time I don't continue to aggressively pursue trades on an intraday immediate basis, but we are at that point in the swing where you expect to see some acceleration. If I had to guess, it will give some topping pattern soon here and a the next hour or so which may set up for a classic TSLA midday squeeze move. Could also just blow the doors off right away...but at 10am its just not profitable from an intraday perspective to pursue immediately. Given the move off the open I almost feel like that is most probable but I have to temper my expectations and be content with a double on the day instead of swinging for a grand slam and striking out.
$370+ could happen quickly now (on a daily basis). Have to be cautious not to overpursue in the short term but also don't be scared of "greatness being thrust upon you" when the exact trade you knew was going to happen begins to play out.

Troubleshooting a glitch. I tell Claude explicitly "never modify the price data."
It proceeds to filter data from my charts to "fix" the problem.
I confront it. It tells me because the candles are not technically the data that it thought it was ok to arbitrarily modify them.

I have now spent over an hour trying to get Claude to simply pull recent price data from highly specified places in my repo and simply calculate MTM returns on a daily basis, based on my positions which are explicitly detailed in the repo as well.
In this process, it has asked me multiple times to delete large swathes of my backtesting data repository because it deemed them to be "placeholders" due to some nomenclature it thought it identified in the file names.
It also took the liberty to perform a "deep analysis" on my trading patterns to explain an enormous discrepancy in its results—eventually concluding that I needed to dramatically alter my trading habits and providing me a condescending essay about how to do so.
Of course, the discrepancy was because it calculated values completely incompetently and its results were totally incorrect.
All I wanted was a little chart in my interface that showed daytrade, all-realized, and MTM gains per day over time. I still do not have that.
Hate is a strong word, but in this instance, it is not strong enough.
