Being a Ghanaian, knowing the state of employment in this country, and still having the audacity to make such a statement is so crazy to me.
Have we suddenly forgotten how many qualified graduates are unemployed or underemployed? How many people spend years applying for jobs, attending interviews and submitting CVs with little to show for it? How many are forced to create their own opportunities because the formal job market can’t accommodate everyone?
And even when people secure jobs, does that automatically mean they are financially comfortable or progressing in their careers? And let’s not even pretend formal employment is it cus it’s not.
There are people with impressive job titles who are barely making ends meet, and there are entrepreneurs building profitable businesses, employing people and creating wealth.
Not everyone wants to climb the corporate ladder. And not everyone considers formal employment the main goal after university. And it’s crazy cus we have somehow convinced ourselves that a degree only has value when it leads to a conventional job?
Meanwhile the reality is that, not everyone will get their dream job. Not everyone will work in their field of study. And not everyone wants to.
Also in a country where people are constantly encouraged to be innovative, create jobs and become self-reliant, why are look down on those who are actually trying to do just that?

The rate at which some Ghanaian girls are becoming comfortable with doing the bare minimum is actually crazy.
Your mates are in the mining sector, law firms, big hospitals, IT, engineering and other serious fields, building careers for themselves. But you spend years in school, get the opportunity to build something solid, and suddenly it's "I have my own business."
Wey business you dey do too aa, hair salon, ice kenkey, sobolo, thrift, Shein, Temu,Nail tech, selling wigs etc.
And before you come for me, there's absolutely nothing wrong with any of these businesses. Making your own money is commendable. But why must it be the only thing you aspire to when you have the opportunity to build a professional career as well?
Use the business as a side hustle. Grow it, invest in it, make money from it, but don't limit yourself. There's more to life than just surviving from one sale to another.
Chale, raise your standards and aim higher. A time will come when some of the opportunities you're taking for granted today won't be available again yoo.

Traders have reportedly resumed business at the Achimota Old Station Overhead just a day after officials of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) stormed the area to evict them for trading at an unauthorised location.

so a young Ghanaian boy was bullied in the Bronx and he was eventually shot and killed. literally was such a quiet kid and he came to America less than a year ago. His dad has been in America for the past 26 years. xenophobia is genuinely despicable. I’m sick to my stomach.

I have so much respect for Juventus. Ronaldo played only three seasons for them but they have been supporting Ronaldo like he spent his entire career there. There’s no club that respect Cristiano than Juventus..
