He's done it.

Today all the living hostages were reunited with their families. The images were deeply moving — the tears, the hugs, the relief, the love — it was something to behold. President Trump, who was in Israel to mark the occasion, deserves credit. He said, “We gather on a day of g hope,” and he went on to say that international pressure had played a part in bringing about the ceasefire, illustrating the role of diplomacy.

There is much more that must still be done. It is no doubt a bittersweet day for those families whose loved ones died in captivity and all those who lost loved ones in this tragic two year war. There must be tremendous rebuilding on the ground and within hearts, souls, and minds. Peace must hold. But today is a day for those who can celebrate to celebrate, and for those still struggling with grief to take gentle care of themselves. As Rachel Goldberg-Polin, mother of slain hostage, so beautifully said, “There is a time to sob and there is a time to dance, and we have to do both right now.” #abovethenoise
