electrical engineering, computer science and geography might sound like an unusual combination.

for @savsql, it helped open the door to a career working with geospatial databases and postgres.

So excited for this one!
Neon just shipped Realtime: any SQL query becomes a live query, no polling, all inside Postgres.

Trying it live Thursday at 6PM CET, building a real-time Q&A board with @neondatabase from scratch.

We shipped a new search experience for the Neon docs, built entirely on Neon primitives.

Neon docs search now uses our Lakebase Search extensions, is served by a Neon Function, and uses Neon AI Gateway for embeddings and reranking!

Rare sighting of @kapehe_ok in Breckenridge

This girl was a flight attendant for 7 years. Got into tech. Rose to the top. And then she left tech.

Now she does whatever she wants. Visits all the wilderness. She’ll never even see this tweet

We should all be like @kapehe_ok

Great thought piece on the Postgres 19 release delays. AI is getting really good at finding bugs, but someone still has to review and fix them all

Kinda makes me wonder how AI is going to keep reshaping open source maintenance in Postgres over time
Postgres 19 is late. @robertmhaas, one of the Postgres committers on our team, explains why: LLMs are finding bugs faster than they can be fixed, including in older releases, and that extra work eats into v19 review time

@savsql Can the AI bug reports include a failing regression test against the affected Postgres release? I’d expect that to save reviewers time compared with a plausible report they still have to reproduce.

Yeah, definitely. PG already encourages reproducible test cases in its bug reporting guidelines, and there are examples of LLM-generated reproducers on pgsql-hackers.

I think that helps a lot with triage, but there’s still the human work of validating the issue and reviewing the fix.
