It is very important for the entire ai startup ecosystem for key inference vendors to be 1) capable of getting capacity that they can freely allocate, 2) secure, 3) reliable, 4) always driving cost and perf

let’s not forget how much of an enabler cpu-era cloud was for innovation! no capex! outsource much of your infra ops (and more every year)!

every small-mid customer “owning, building and running their own landed power, cooling qnd chips” completely ignores the lessons of economic history. we had colo 20y ago…public cloud won

in an age where closed frontier labs weigh every (limited) GPU served by api vs. internal training and 1st party product use, inference abundance beyond them is a prerequisite for a rich startup ecosystem

If you are worried about getting hacked, we can help. We will scan your code intensively, we will resolve issues for you, we will work closely with your eng team. DM me.
@TheCraigHewittay installing @detaildotdev on@detaildotdevpository, running one free scan as a test (as it basically does your OP) then setup @bot with access@botyour application logs and give it my tweet and say “do this 3x per day”.

Then your job as a human is to not get overwhelmed by the PRs that come (which are likely all valid).

unfortunately humans adjust to shifts of the Overton window that they can’t control (eg all my data is owned) relatively quickly

you can actually just win on model
HeyGen Video 1 went up against today's leading video models in a blind test on @ArtificialAnlys.

Our first general-purpose video model ranked #1 in text to video.

We asked Baseten to independently evaluate @mirendil’s base models. We shared our model endpoints so they could evaluate them on their own private codebases. Mirendil-Base-Large ended up being the best of all the models they tested!

Thank you, @baseten, for being a great partner!
We ran @mirendil's new base model on Baseten's private codebases; that is, code it's never seen. Mirendil-Base-Large had the lowest bits per byte (a tokenizer-independent measure of perplexity) of any model we tested.

We're excited to be the inference partner to serve Mirendil Mirendil team on this launch!

Loved going on @tbpn and talking about how much there is still to do in AI for national security!

@watchtowerlabs is focused on planning and logistics. As General Eisenhower said, plans are worthless, but planning is everything. We want to bring the best in superintelligence to nd be ready to help when plans inevitably change.

If you're an engineer or mission-minded patriot that wants to work on this challenge, reach out! watchtowerlabs.ai/careers

Today we’re announcing the Baseten Environment Network, a group of the best RL environment companies that will help our customers build custom environments for post-training.

The Network extends our applied research capacity, helping more customers build environments around and feedback.

Partners work directly with customers to create the environments, while we continue to handle model training and production deployment.

Congrats @she_travels on her new @stripepress book, Built to Grow! After repeatedly coaching great product builders through the initial ramp of b2b sales and marketing for the last decade+, I wish this book had existed sooner for me to gift!

incredibly important scientific (and national security) mission and two wonderful people we have known for decades

a next-gen preclinical CRO in America will become a pattern for other industrial reshoring: competitive because it is robotics/intelligence-first
💥 Introducing Warp Sciences, a new company applying AI and robotics to help the world develop new medicines faster.

We’ve raised a $215M Series A led by @lightspeedvp to bring frontier AI out of the browser and into the lab, and build scientific capacity here in America.

I co-founded Warp with my long-time friend @dpatil, FAIR co-founder @manohar_paluri, and drug hunter Sol Reisberg. The early team is full of incredible people like @bkspears9, who helped achieve Q>1 fusion at LLNL.

Big counterattack in the fight against cancer. Memorial Sloan Kettering is a gold standard for cutting edge cancer care. Now @OpenEvidence and MSK have built OncoKB, MSK’s expert interpretation of a tumor’s genetics, directly into OpenEvidence!
Over 85% of oncologists at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center use OpenEvidence.

Together, @MSKCancerCenter and OpenEvidence have built OncoKB, MSK’s expert interpretation of a tumor’s genetics, directly into OpenEvidence, putting it in the hands of oncologists across the Anaeze Offodile puts it: “Our mission is to end cancer for life.” As of today, we are widening OncoKB’s reach so that patients everywhere benefit from the same rigor as patients at MSK. Watch the story.

some more background:

the FDA (tier 2 and 3) recognition of OncoKB turns a big flood of genetic data into a fast, highly accurate action plan for treating cancer. you get

1. instant matchmaking -- when an oncologist sequences a tumor, they get a long list of mutations. you can look those up in OncoKB to the exact FDA-approved drugs or clinical trials that can fight them.

2. less red tape for labs -- before, if a research lab invented a new cancer test, they had to not only prove the analytical but the clinical validity for every mutation to the FDA (with lots of scientific paperwork)! but because of OncoDB, it's an open pre-approved source of Valid Scientific Evidence

3. continual updates from experts -- unknown mututations can get a greenlight overnight

all this amazing work by MSK is now instantly accessible not just to specialists, but to the majority of US doctors that use OE every week! most cancer patients are treated at local community clinics, not major research hospitals. OncoKB inside OpenEvidence means a doctor in a small rural town instantly has access to the same elite (and up to date) genomic expertise as the specialists at MSK.
