Ajuri farmers in Oyam are now connected!
Thanks to WOUGNET and LabNet, working under the Rural Community Broadband Network (RCBN), rural communities are gaining free internet, digital literacy training, and access points.

While having a conversation with Rubby Odur, Director of Studies at Acaba Technical School, he describes the shift since WOUGNET installed broadband internet on campus under the BOLT Project, he narrative that "Unlike before, when internet costs were high, this pushed some staff they could afford to buy it... But now the staffroom looks different, teachers are researching, catching up on news, connecting online not filling idle hours with rumors."

And this is just the beginning. The school is now planning to put its 10 desktop computers that have been long underused to work, teaching learners basic computer applications for the first time. For

📱 Our Training Updates from Oyam District are still ongoing!

Last week, WOUGNET wrapped up Module 5 of our digital skills training under the #BOLT Project this time putting the spotlight on mobile application use and access to e-government services.

Try Picturing a room full e users some holding a phone for the very first time learning to set up a new smartphone, use the calculator, navigate social media, and now, access the digital doors to basic information and government services that used to mean a long journey to a district office.

For rural communities in Oyam, this isn't just a lesson. It's a shortcut to services, information, and independence.
