It’s going to get a lot worse btw
October has been an absolute nightmare for software
> Railway - customer secrets exposure
> LiteLLM - malicious PyPI + Docker releases
> Zeabur - infrastructure breached
> OpenCode - AI API keys exposed
> OVHcloud CLI - official binaries backdoored
> Rank Math PRO - malware in official plugin
> TeamUpdraft - customer data compromised
> ConnectWise - cloud backup identities compromised
> Tensorlake - npm package infected
> SubQuery - backdoored npm package
> GhostAction - GitHub repos with malicious workflows
> PHP - critical RCE vulnerabilities
> Node.js - security vulnerabilities patched
> eMudhra - certificate authority keys compromised
> Tailscale - eMudhra incident
At this point, the biggest security risk might not be the code we write, but the code we trust...

When we started ImportaPay, we kept hearing the same story from importers.
Money stuck for days. Suppliers abroad losing patience. Goods waiting at ports while payments crawled through banks that didn't care.
We knew we could fix it. We didn't know how hard it would be.
The last few months tested us. Late nights reviewing compliance documents. Weeks of back-and-forth. Moments where it would have been easier to cut corners and just ship.
We didn't.
Because when an importer sends money through us, it's not just a transaction. It's their stock, their staff, their family's next meal. That trust deserves more than shortcuts.
In September, we grew 2.5x from August.
Today, I'm proud to share that ImportaPay is now registered with FINTRAC 🇨🇦 as a Money Services Business (MSB)
To my team: you carried this when it was heavy. Thank you.
To our customers: you believed in us early. This is for you.
To partners and investors: we're building this the right way, and we're just getting started.
Compliance isn't the finish line. It's the foundation.

We have so many amazing developments we can’t wait to share
We have so many amazing developments we can’t wait to share
So glad to announce @minicor_'s $3.8M seed led by @bradgillespie at @iaventures, @ycombinator (@kul, @t_blom), with participation from @paulg
70% of the Fortune 500 run on legacy software with no APIs, making it difficult to implement AI
Minicor gives that legacy software a ses can easily bring AI into the systems they already run on.

Today, we’re announcing @ArgaLabs’ $10M seed round led by @generalcatalyst.
AI agents are taking consequential actions across real systems, but teams still lack a safe, realistic place to test them before production.
Arga’s Real-World Sandboxes give teams stateful twins of g them catch regressions, replay edge cases, and validate non-deterministic workflows without ever touching production.
Teams at @slashapp, @MonacoGTM, @WorkWeave, @YCombinator, and more have already run 100,000+ tests on Arga in the past four months.
Thank you to @BoxGroup, @emergencecap, @GradientVC, @svangel, and everyone else who backed us.
Glad to be building with @akkkkiira. We’re just getting started. 🚀
P.S. We’re giving everyone 10 free sandbox runs. Reply or DM me!

Today, we are announcing our $31M seed financing at Apollo Atomics.
The $26M equity is led by FCVC with participation from Y Combinator, TeleSoft Partners, Alumni Ventures, Pelion Venture Partners, Duke Capital Partners, Robinhood Ventures, and Nucleation Capital. $5M of provided by Oak Ridge Financial.
Apollo Atomics is the only nuclear company that can deliver high power output nuclear reactors (>80 MW) on a truck. The higher power density is the strongest argument for cost effectiveness and mass manufacturing in the nuclear industry today. We achieve this without relying on exotic/scarce fuel, unqualified materials, or high regulatory uncertainty.
Achieving that goal is a mirage if you don’t build the right company. With Drew Walker, we have assembled an extremely talent dense team with Excellence, Intensity, and Execution at its core. We are running a low power reactor demonstrator within MIT and now building a full scale 1 MW reactor prototype under commercial reactor conditions. We work directly with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission to support a commercial deployment in 2028.
Apollo Atomics is not hardware in vacuum, we are building software solutions for autonomous reactor control, licensing support, and reactor modeling to reduce OpEx and deployment timeline.
Deeply grateful to our early investors for supporting our mission when no one else believed particularly Genesis Fund, Arjun Gupta, and New Era Ventures, to our early supporters within Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MIT Sandbox Innovation Fund Program, TNT, MIT Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering.
Excited to have many brilliant individual investors supporting our mission including Paul Graham, Evan Meagher, CFA, Philip Johnston, Ray Rothrock, Matteo Franceschetti

Key lessons I learned from @paulg yesterday:
1. Grow 10 percent a week. If you optimize for growth, growth designs the product. Users tell you what to build next.
2. The growth rate is a decision filter. If code is not the limiting factor, stop writing software and go sell.
3. ing. Money from customers is. A valuation is a prediction of future customer revenue.
4. Believe the no, not the why. Rejection reasons are breakup lines.
5. If everything else fails, keep a small group of users happy. Hang on to that like a rope in a hurricane.

The redaction feature is way cooler than the types imo.
There is a lot of env leaks today while using agents, who knows where your api keys are being stored.

Been using Varlock to validate environment variables
A unified .env.schema file to configure env loading+validation. So good.
🎯 specifies what .env files to load
🦺 defines var allowlist
💎 validates (url/port/regex/enum/etc)
◼️ auto-redacts secrets
⚡️ `varlock run -- <cmd>`
