🍎 macOS Graphical Improvements!

RPCS3 macOS builds now ship with KosmicKrisp, a Vulkan driver that runs on top of Metal 4, requiring macOS 26 Tahoe or newer.

This is a better alternative to use Vulkan on macOS, fixing several issues that otherwise occur on MoltenVK.

MoltenVK continues to be available as an option as we continue to support macOS 15 Sequoia until it reaches end-of-life next year.

Faster RPCS3 PPU/SPU recompilation times on Windows!

Megamouse found that using the new SegmentHeap instead of the old NT heap delivers a nice performance boost when using many threads!

On a 9950X3D, PPU/SPU recompilation for GT6 went down from 2m50s to 1m55s, now 48% faster!

User avatars have arrived in RPCS3!

You can now choose an avatar to be displayed locally in games that support them, thanks to FlexBy.

This also fixes crashes in some games that expect an avatar, such as split-screen Minecraft and Sonic Generations’ online mode.

Whatcookie wrote some more crazy CPU optimisations for RPCS3!

This optimises RSX fragment hashing/comparisons using AVX-512, making it 4x faster on a Zen 4 CPU and even faster on Zen 5!

This leads to a measured ~1-3% overall FPS gain in Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction.

Smaller RPCS3 builds are here!

Megamouse reduced the size of the RPCS3 builds by replacing a heavy dependency with our own implementation.

Compressed download size changes:
Linux x64: 90.3 MB -> 79.3 MB
Windows x64: 37.7 MB -> 35.2 MB
macOS arm64: 33.4 MB -> 32.4 MB

80% of ALL PS3 games are now PLAYABLE on PC!

Thanks to improvements in the accuracy of CPU, GPU and PS Move emulation, many games have been moved to the Playable category.

KIRYU-CHAN!!! Yakuza: Dead Souls is now Playable on PC with RPCS3!

Stability issues are now FIXED, thanks to Yahfz.
A 60 FPS patch is now available too, thanks to FlexBy!

The instability occurred because the emulated PPU got ahead of the SPU, corrupting the process heap.

It’s finally time for… BLITZ: THE LEAGUE II on PC!!!

We’ve greatly improved the game’s stability on RPCS3.

Lead Core Developer elad335 fixed a PPU<->SPU synchronisation issue related to SPU mailbox pushes where the PPU was getting ahead of the SPU, unlike a real PS3.

You can now play the best Sonic game ever made on PC!

That’s right, we fixed Sonic '06!

Lead Developer elad335 found a synchronisation issue in our emulation of the SPU MMIO.

He fixed it by making the PPU return from an SPU SNR push event at the same time as the SPU wakes up.

⚠️ As with other open-source projects, RPCS3 has seen a rise in reported security vulnerabilities.

These can only be exploited with malicious game copies/mods and are NOT a cause for concern when you use your own unmodified game dumps.

Update RPCS3 regularly to stay protected!

⚔️ The time has come! Yes… we’ve finally solved it.

Random crashes in 3D Dot Game Heroes are FIXED!

Yahfz found that on PS3, the PPU can wake up and free a SPURS task context before the SPU finishes saving it, causing heap corruption.

Now fixed with "PPU Event Wake-Up Delay".

Fixed a graphical bug in Armored Core: Verdict Day!

Yahfz fixed the flickering blue squares that appeared during movement.

The PS3's RSX passes fragment program constants through unmodified including infinities. RPCS3 incorrectly zeroed both NaN and Inf when uploading them.

🌱 Fixed grass rendering in Flower and Boku no Natsuyasumi 3!

It was discovered that Flower submits more than 200K grass vertices in a single draw call.
