This is an idea worth thinking about
It's #TimeToMassTest. We're asking the govt to make a mass-testing regime its core objective.

Our paper sets out how the UK can roll out mass testing by the end of 2020, with a foreword by Tony Blair, @Jeremy_Hunt & @WilliamJHague

Hotel quarantine inquiry to examine genomic testing in hunt for 'patient zero' - “However, Andrews and Sutton have declined to release the genomic testing, citing the Doherty Institute’s ownership of the research” - disturbing - what do PDI say about this? theguardian.com/australia-news…

Replying to @rorybowden
I am interested in this, because when @TheDohertyInst people like @torstenseemann talk about the work, they rightly emphasise public benefits, and don’t say that it’s private for govt. what about other stakeholders and scientists to benefit or assist?

Looking for R to drop to 0.6 is misunderstanding what R(eff) means. It’s a parameter that describes a complex system - suggesting it will go down from the current est 0.96 implies far greater restrictions or behaviour changes than current stage 4 lockdown. abc.net.au/news/2020-08-1…

Replying to @rorybowden
In fact, we’d be ok with 0.96 so long as cases / day <= maybe 10. R(eff) also depends on successful tracking of cases and interruption of transmission, such that we could swap some restrictions for more effective tracking. This was the plan.
