RootstockLabs Intelligence Manager Gabriela spent the day recently at @LSEGplc Risk Revealed, talking AI, compliance and financial crime with people from @bancosantander, @ProsegurGlobal and others.
What stuck with her: AI is only as good as the data you feed it.
That’s where blockchain gets interesting. Every transaction is traceable, so it’s easier to follow the money and spot risk early.
But tech doesn’t take the blame when things go wrong. As one speaker put it: “AI is not responsible. Humans are.”

La semana que viene vence la tarjeta de crédito. Y mi sueldo me llega una semana después del vencimiento.
La salida clásica sería vender algo de mi bitcoin para llegar a tiempo. Pero no quiero desprenderme de un activo en el que creo a largo plazo solo por un desfase de siete días.
Así que voy a resolverlo así:
1️⃣ Envío RBTC desde @rootstock_io a @RipioApp.
2️⃣ Lo retiro hacia Ethereum como WBTC.
3️⃣ Lo dejo como colateral en @CapyFi_Protocol y pido prestados wARS a una tasa de 26.19%.
4️⃣ Mando los wARS a Ripio y pago la tarjeta a tiempo.
5️⃣ Cuando cobre el sueldo, repago el préstamo y recupero mi colateral.
Un préstamo corto, para un desfase de caja concreto, sin vender mi BTC.
Eso sí, hay que cuidar el nivel de colateral y el riesgo de liquidación. Por eso voy a dejar un buen margen y el plazo va a ser corto.
Esto es lo que más me interesa de DeFi: no especular por especular, sino usar tus activos para resolver cosas de la vida real, como pagar la tarjeta a fin de mes.
Rootstock, Ripio y CapyFi conectan capital cripto con monedas locales de una forma muy útil para LATAM.
