I’ve joined &Truth to secure our civilisation’s digital infrastructure for the AI era. We’re really at a critical juncture and I think we have less than 18 months to formally verify all the world’s software.

If you’re reading this, you likely already know that an avalanche of cybersecurity disasters is coming our way. The wider public doesn’t know yet — but will find out soon enough, and when it does, we in the formal methods community need to be able to say that we have built the tools, infrastructure, and capability to meet the challenge. We’ll also need to educate the public.

&Truth is building an universal verification layer that handles code in any language, and anyone will be able to independently check our proofs. I firmly think this will become basic civilisational infrastructure in just a few years’ time, and will serve a similar role as the rule of law does now.

There are massive challenges ahead, but I’m convinced this is the best team in the world to solve this problem.

Was eating a philly cheesesteak a few months ago when @ClarkBarrett7 called to tell me I should probably find a coadvisor, as he was going on leave to start a code verification company. After a second of chewing, I told him I would be dropping out to join @andTruthPBC immediately.

Formal verification of all software is the only scalable solution to trusting legacy and AI-written code alike. There is no better team on the planet to solve this problem, and it is the privilege of a lifetime to be a part of it.
