Once you realise the beauty of epubs you will never again download a fic as a pdf

This post is my only contribution to society during ao3s downtime... Reject evil unchangeable pdfs, embrace beautiful adaptable epubs

on pc i suggest using calibre, it's literally THE goat, you can view all the metadata and edit it, the only downside is the tags are alphabetically sorted
on phone, i got nothing to rec (lol) i just use a random ebook reader

All my fics are on there bruh... I have blanket permission for podfics but not if it's PAID???
In light of recent ao3 related events, I have stumbled upon a website that I think authors need to be made aware of.
The website ao3 [DOT] life has been scraping and downloading fics published to ao3 for who knows how long. 🧵

I'm receiving daily kudos email from sqwa now lol? And also multiple bot/scam comments like only a day after ao3 was down (sqwa caught them pretty fast though!)

So excited to rear illufish and flinsfish in my laptop
After 1.5 years of pouring my heart into my very first game, I'm so excited to finally announce that...
Drawquarium is coming to Steam on November 13! 🥹
Draw your own fish, bring them to life, and create your little underwater world, even as a live wallpaper!
Like+RT = ♥️

"What was your biggest impact on the internet?"
This was my most popular piece of art in 10 years, I still see it quite often

Happy Birthday, Flins!
#GenshinImpact #Flins
Good evening. I was just thinking that you, perhaps, might appreciate seeing a few of the little things I have collected.
Some objects appear quite unremarkable by daylight. It is only after nightfall that their true luster reveals er, seems to be shining more brightly than usual tonight. Perhaps the two of you are simply well matched.
If it pleases you, take it with you when you leave. A small glimmer like this should be enough to help you find your way along a dark road.

generally I consider it flattering if someone liked my fic so much they downloaded it, but downloading for personal use and mass redistributing it in gdrives is totally different. I can't fault writers who want more control over their work +
it is incredibly grotesque that people will act like they're wasting away without their nice little bedtime stories but turn seething and nasty toward fic writers as soon as they try to set boundaries about the distribution of their work. you are not very nice people

especially when readers these days are so nasty.
The metadata is preserved and the authors name is still there on downloads. But when there are hundreds of likes on posts mocking an author for being uncomfortable with the way their works are being distributed, +
