In December of 2024, I was in a hotel in New York City. Housekeeping knocked on my door. I opened it and it was an older lady, maybe late 40s, early 50, still reasonably attractive despite her age. She had a distinctly Eastern European accent. I asked her about it because it was sincerely interesting to me. The Cold War was the final battleground of modernity, anything adjacent to the Soviets is captivating to me. It turns out she grew up in Yugoslavia. She was telling me all about her childhood growing up in Montenegro, how her kids have no idea what luxuries are afforded to them, how far technology has advanced and how comfortable their lives are. All of their problems are so frivolous compared to what she grew up with, but that was precisely the point. Her children knew nothing of hardship. What greater privilege could possibly be afforded to a mother?
She seemed very happy to hear someone so interested in her background. She called me young and handsome many times. She cleaned the room with an almost maternal enthusiasm as we talked. It was almost embarrassing to stand around and watch this woman clean my room as she complimented me, but I was captivated by the encounter.
But this is not a Worst Boyfriend Ever post. We did not have sex. Sorry to disappoint everyone who was about to cum.

I grew up as a Clone Wars TV zoomer. Anakin was my fucking GOAT. They constantly blueballed the audience with Anakin's eventual turn, and I never got to see it, but I remember eagerly watching every episode as his character got incrementally darker with time

It's my understanding that within the last few years they actually went back and made a final season that fully connects the Clone Wars TV show with Episode 3 which probably would have blown my mind when I was 8 years old.
