Big thanks to @ryan_hopper31 for running down to Texas A&M-Kingsville this morning and talking with @JavelinaFB!
He also grabbed Santa Gertrudis Academy while the Lions were practicing on campus.
I’ll have the preview with both coming up this week on @kiii3news.

Kiana Williams with me on:
• POA importance (& some objectives)
• "Ice/Weak" & how she see's it assist them
• PHXs bigs versatility "veering," (late-switching)
Phoenix is working to sustain the levels they know they can reach in it, but the process & potential are clear.

The Mercury have an elite defensive potential.
The challenge in that, is sustaining it for a full 40 minutes, & all starts with containing the ball.
Possessions like this one hint at what they can be both in personnel, scheme, & solving defensive disadvantage — together.

Some of my best throws leading up to district... I’m super proud of the progress I’ve made from both shot put and discus! Placed 2nd in Shot and 8th in Discus. Still have a lot of work to do and now it’s time to focus on Area! #DeeTheCannon #ShotPut #District #ThrowersThrow

San Antonio native Kiana Williams and the @PhoenixMercury are gearing up for the WNBA finals! If the Aces win Game 5 tonight against the Fever we could see Williams oppose a fellow S.A. native, NaLyssa Smith, for the title. Hear what Williams thinks about that possibility:
