An events management client of mine needed one number on their dashboard for their festival weekend: how many VIP tables were left to sell.

It's simple maths but surprisingly tricky to show in ClickUp.

Full walkthrough's in my video 👇

You’ve rebuilt the workspace but your team still trusts the spreadsheet more.

I’ve worked with a team who thought ClickUp’s reporting was wrong because it didn’t match their spreadsheet. The two places contained different data!

They’d stopped updating ClickUp because they made the reporting obviously less reliable.

It would have been easy to call that resistance to change. But they were spending hours trying to get answers that they already knew how to get from a spreadsheet.

Nobody had shown them how to create a filtered view or add up a column, so going back to what they knew made sense.

What helped was showing them how to get those answers from the data already in ClickUp, with views showing just the fields each team needed.

Your client emails "any update on this?" and you go digging to answer it.

The only other option seems to be adding your client to your workspace if you want to interact with them.

And once they're in, they see waaay more than you meant them to. Every task, all your internal 👀

So I built a client portal that sits on top of @clickup instead. Clients log in without a ClickUp account and only see what I've chosen to share:

• Tasks I've ticked "Show client" on
• The fields I pick for each client, nothing else
• Comments I've marked for them, while the internal stuff stays internal

They can reply, and when something needs their sign-off they approve it or request changes right there.

It's version zero right now but It works! I'm gonna be testing it with my own clients first.

Screenshots below. You can see what the task looks like for me in ClickUp vs what the client sees.

Proud tech bro here. Who’s also taught his 5 year old daughter what a cursor is, how to right click, and how to use keyboard shortcuts.

Next up, teaching her @omarchy!

Getting Grok Bot to setup my Upwork profile for me.

Time well saved.

I love going to the library. Daughter does reading and drawing. I pick up a couple of books with the dream I’ll read them before I have to return them.

Less doomscrolling, more reading.

This was a fascinating interview. Always is with Rick Ruben.

His way of interacting with the world is so refreshing. No 5-year plan. No limitations. Going with the flow. And being successful while doing it.

He says we all feel boxed in but it’s not real. It’s just a story. We’re all actually free.

Made my AI agents into fantasy characters.

Total procrastination but it's these things that make business even more fun.

Now we're off on a quest!

What are we all using grok bot for? First time user here.
I’ve just updated a Linux app with help from my AI. Wasn’t expecting that to work so well!

I’m using Omarchy and Grok Bot refused to open because it needed version 0.75. The package available to install was still on 0.72.

I asked ClickUp Brain, and it helped me change the fetch the newer version, then install it normally.

Basically, the app was ready, but the instructions for downloading it were behind. We updated those. Grok Bot opens now 🥳

Seen all these people jailbreaking their TVs so I’m finally doing my old Kindle.

Claude has made this so easy. Just pointed it at the instructions website and it did it all for me.

AI turned the picture straight into a task.

From daughter’s homework into a ClickUp task with checklists.

Will walk around the park today, taking photos, ticking things off the list, and having a lovely time.

If anyone needs a more advanced text expander on Omarchy, feel free to try out the one I cooked up. I’d love bug reports and feature requests/submissions on the repo if you want to help out.
I got the chance to test it today on Omarchy.

Works perfectly.

This is why this OS is the future. I have a problem, an awesome dude on the internet says, "I'll solve that", and he comes with a solution the next day.

Amazing!

Today I built a text expander for Omarchy because @productive_will asked for one. I’m also doing specs for the perfect note taking application for myself and expect to start development on it tomorrow. I constantly switch between Notion, Obsidian and Apple Notes because each has something I need at different times. So now I’m just going to build the perfect note software for myself that runs natively on the platforms I use (Omarchy, Mac, iOS, Android). Don’t worry, I’ll share it when it’s done. If your workflow is like mine I’m sure you will love it. If it’s not, you have amazing options elsewhere 💪

Alright @clickup, I didn’t mean to offend the AI 😅

If I could run Brain in the terminal, I would.

Got myself a dock for the Steam Deck. Man what a difference it is playing on here rather than a raspberry pi.

Hasn’t helped me beat my daughter though. She’s still thrashing me.

Working on 2 things in my business today.

One is nailing down my retainer offer.

The other, inspired by @evielync, is making my own AI chief of staff.

It’ll live inside ClickUp and help me with planning, pipeline reviews, content checks, and more.

The idea is it keeps me usiness running without being asked.

Replying to @productive_will
Also, Ev has a course on this. Go get it if you think you’d find an AI chief of staff useful in your business.

evchapman.com/products/ai-ch…

It can be any AI btw, doesn’t need to be ClickUp. I’m just running it there because that’s where all my context already is.

Some people don’t like cool stuff.

Elon can do what he wants with his money. And what he’s made is a flying car!!

It’s as dope as it gets. Until it gets even better.

The world is awesome.
By no stretch of the imagination is this objectively dope and this post by Roberto (whom I am a fan of) is evidence of EDS.

This is not complicated.

This is market manipulation.

This is smoke and mirrors.

This is bait for people who dont know better.

We see what people can do with just a few billion dollars.

The mayor of New York City is demonstrating that every single day.

And that's all he is. A mayor.

Not the richest and possibly the most powerful man on the planet.

So Roberto, with all due respect, do me a favor and miss me with this bullshit. 🖖🏼
